The Next Adventure of the Sisterhood
A/N: This has a twist from the 2nd movie in it, for those of you who haven't seen the movie, and those who have, in the movie, Carmen starts dating a guy names Ian, I personally love Ian, and he is with Carmen in this story.
Prologue
We had been through everything together, love, loss, friendship, sadness, bravery, fear, and so much more. But now we were about to experience the greatest adventure of all: Parenthood. I know what you're thinking, Tibby, you hate babies, why would you want one? I never really hated my siblings, and besides that, any hate I had once held for small children vanished the day that Tina had her baby.
You may think that our story ended the day we lost the pants, but so much more happened between then and now, so join us as together we embark on the greatest journey of all, Motherhood.
It all started one day when we were walking around the mall. We were all twenty-eight, and so much had happened since the summer when we lost the pants. As a group we were walking around the mall, it was Friday, girls night out. I looked around, and saw something I never expected to, babies seemed to be everywhere. There was a heavily pregnant woman with her husband, rubbing her engorged belly, a couple of toddlers were giggling a drooling together in strollers as their mothers talked, parent cradled crying babies close, babies, babies, babies. They were everywhere!
I didn't realize I had stopped until the Septembers were calling my name, a couple feet in front of me.
I caught up with them and we continued through the mall.
"What's wrong, Tib?" Carmen asked, staring at my vacant look.
"Nothing," I muttered, looking away.
"C'mon, Tibby, we know you better than that," Bridget coaxed.
Finally I relented, "I want a baby," I mumbled, looking away in shame.
They all sighed in relief, "Oh," Lena said, "I thought you were moving or something, I couldn't stand having all of us live on separate streets." She joked. Yes, we all lived on the same street. It might be a cliché, but we couldn't stand being apart.
"No, Lenny, I really want a baby." I said firmly.
"I know that Tib, you know that Ian and I have been trying forever."
We all sat down on a nearby bench and Bridget put her arm around me. "We all want kids, Tibby."
"Not you," I pointed out, "You still have your soccer career in front of you, you can't have something like a baby in the way of that."
"Well that may be true, but you have your career as a famous director, that doesn't seem to make you want a kid any less, but you are right, I'm not anywhere near ready for a baby right now."
Bee had followed her dream and become a soccer star. During college she had minored in archeology, so she always had that to fall back on. Tibby was an actress, and becoming better known by the day. Lena did portraits and other paintings on request; she had a steady business going, but was glad that Kostos had a very fixed position in his company. And me? I was a director, and I was rather famous. Everyone joked that I would become the next Steven Spielberg.
Little did I know that my wish would come true very soon, along with three more little bundles of joy.
