Nick Stokes and Sofia Curtis sat in their favorite diner, playing twenty questions with each other. So far, each was up to about forty questions but they were having fun asking each other silly questions.

"Okay, what's the worst thing you ever had to eat?" Sofia asked Nick as she took a drink of lukewarm coffee.

"My sister, Lizzie's sweet potato pie. It tasted burnt and undercooked but I couldn't hurt her feelings by saying anything, so I ate it."

"So you were willing to eat something that tasted terrible so you didn't hurt your sister's feelings? Aren't you sweet." Sofia teased him, a big smile on her face. "Well, your turn."

"What is the one thing that you are worst at?"

Sofia thought for a moment and then said, "Ice skating."

"Ice skating?"

"Yeah. My mom took my friends and I ice skating for my eighth birthday. I fell on the ice and broke my ankle. I was in a cast for six weeks. Never went ice skating again." Sofia shrugged.

"Ma'am." Nick waved the waitress over. "Can you get me the check?"

"Sure thing hon." The waitress replied. "Your total comes up to $5.99."

Nick handed her a ten and said, "Keep the change."

"Thank you. And Happy Holidays." The waitress said as she walked over to the cash register.

Nick got up and held out his hand to Sofia. "Come on."

Sofia took his hand and practically had to run to keep up with him. "Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise." Nick said, a smile on his face. Sofia would either kiss him or kill him for what he was about to do. He hoped for the former.

---

"Close your eyes." Nick instructed as they went down another street.

"Why?"

"Come on, just humor me."

"Fine." Sofia said, closing her eyes.

Nick grinned at Sofia's obvious curiosity.

---

They arrived at the intended destination and Nick opened Sofia's door.

"Can I open my eyes yet?" Sofia was getting more curious by the minute. Nick was being very mysterious and she wanted to know what the surprise was.

"No."

"Nick, how am I supposed to see to walk?" She laughed, exasperated.

"Easy. Just get out and I'll lead you."

"Okay." If her eyes had been open, she would have rolled them but she got out anyway.

"Okay, take a few more steps."

Sofia did so and Nick got behind her, putting his hands on her shoulders, he guided her into the building. "You can open them now."

Sofia opened her eyes and smiled. "Nick, I told you I'm horrible at this." She smiled in disbelief.

"Yeah, but I'm good at it."

"So, what, I'm just going to watch you show off."

"No, I'm going to teach you. Now come on, we have to rent our skates."

---

Okay, put you legs like this." Nick said, showing her.

Sofia did so. "Now what."

"Now you skate." He said, moving one foot in front of the other. Seeing Sofia's obvious apprehension, he skated back to her. "Okay, like this." He said, grabbing her hand. "Now, put one foot in front of the other."

Sofia moved her left foot slightly in front of the other.

"You can do better than that." Nick said.

"I don't want to fall." Sofia said, feeling like an idiot.

"You won't. I'm right here." He linked his arm around hers.

"Okay." She began to skate a bit and found herself getting the hand of it until a kid skated into her path. She tried to turn and felt herself begin to fall. But, Nick quickly skated in front of her and Sofia fell into his arms. Nick steadied her a bit and pulled back some.

"They're under the mistletoe." A little girl of about ten yelled.

Nick and Sofia looked up and saw that they were indeed under the mistletoe. Sofia took a deep breath. 'Please let this be real.' Sofia thought as Nick closed his eyes and began to lean in. Sofia followed his lead and their lips met in a kiss and didn't part until they were both breathless.
