This is an attempt to portray how the Immortals may view themselves in respect to their unique status within the Protoss society. I hope you like it.

We are the weak.

We are the ones who mortally struck down by our enemies. The shame burns within us, and we long to die so that we may escape it, but to do so while we may still serve would be an act of cowardice.

Cowardice is far worse than weakness.

So we allow ourselves to be entombed within the cybernetic shell of the dragoon, its fluids sustain us and we may serve once more. We walk to war and purge our foes with the might of our cannons so that we may atone for our weakness. Our still-living brethren honour us needlessly, for we do not deserve it, but for as long as our people need us, we will serve.

It is the only way to burn away our shame.

We are the ones who have failed.

Aiur has been defiled by the Zerg. The power of our cannons were useless, the countless Zerg we destroyed meaningless, for we have failed in our sacred duty to protect our homeworld. Noble Tassadar sacrificed himself to destroy the Overmind, attaining the greatest honour the Firstborn could ever wish for, and yet we still linger though it is our duty to sacrifice ourselves for our world.

The shame of failure burns within us. It should have been us, the already-dead, who should have thrown our lives away to destroy the abomination.

We have lost our honour and our world.

So we reforged ourselves in the fires of our failure, so that we who remain may atone.

Our mighty cannons shall tear apart the greatest of foes, so that we may open the path to victory for our people. Our shields shall withstand the greatest adversaries, so that we may protect our people. For every one of us who falls, we shall send countless of our enemies into oblivion. We shall strike fear in the hearts of our foes, so that even when all of us have rejoined the Khala, they shall never forget us.

And so we shall truly be that for which we have been named.

Our cannons shall sing.

We march to victory.

It is destined.

We are the Immortals.

We shall serve forever.
