They sat aroud the small apartment, just finishing the last of their sake before stepping outside the face the biteing cold on their sererate paths home. The usual blond ray of sunshine hosting the now ended party, was putting on his smiliy, happy mask as he said good bye to all his friends. They all hugged or shoke his hand as they left, thanking him for the fun, yet long, party. The last to leave was the one person who had been on Naruto's mind all night, the person he constantly fought to prove himself worthy of him, the person he loved more than anyone else. Naruto tryed to shake hands with Sasuke, and ask him to spar tomorrow with the katana Iruka-senpai had given him, but was stopped in mid-sentence as he was pinned to the wall and felt a pair of warm, soft lips pressing against his.
The person pinning him to the wall backed up and pointed to the little green plant hanging over them, that amazingly enough noone else noticed. "Merry Christmas, dobe." Sasuke said, a blush mixing with his pale complextion. The blond blushed slightly, than reached up and pulled down the mistletoe. "So. . . it was only because of this? I thought. . . maybe. . . nevermind, its useless anyway." Naruto said casting his eyes downward toward the little plant he was twisting around in his finers before throwing it to the side.
Before he could say anything else, those soft, pale lips touched his again, this time a little harder and more passionate. Again it was over too soon for Naruto. "That was because I love you." the raven haired shinobi said smiling for the first time in years. He placed his hands around the blonds waist and pulled him into a tight hug. "I love you too, Sasuke." Naruto said as he inhaled the taller boys unique scent. It was spicey and sweet at the same time, something only the Uchiha could pull off.
Secretly the two boys had loved each other scince their first kiss in the academy. And now, as they walked to the couch together, they thanked god for mistletoe.
