Rose walks hand in hand with the Doctor as they head to the little bakery a few blocks away from Torchwood Offices.
He kisses her on the cheek. "I'll go get us something, you get a table." Then he goes into the bakery, leaving Rose outside.
She wanders over to the metal garden tables and sits down at one for two. Rose pulls the bottom of her form fitting, hot pink dress down a little to keep it from riding up and crosses her legs. She plays with her short hair, which she had curled this morning, winding it around one finger and then the next. Closing her eyes, she takes in the aroma of all the baked goods.
He turns around to stand behind her and makes his move. "Excuse me, but I just found the cause of global warming- your hot curves!"
Rose's eyes pop open, that wasn't the Doctor's voice. She turns around in her chair, mouth open and ready to put this man in his place. Speechless, she is shocked to find herself face to face with Pete's world Captain Jack Harkness, and to have him hitting on her for the second time.
"Captain Jack Harkness. And you are?"
"Rose Tyler. It's so good to see you!"
He gives her a confused look and she motions for him to sit down across from her.
"It's complicated. I'm actually from a parallel universe and I knew the alternate you there," she explains.
The Doctor comes out of the bakery with two donuts, a chocolate croissant, chocolate biscuits, and two to-go steaming cups of tea, to find Rose flirting with another man. The other man's back is to the Doctor so he can't see who he is, but the Doctor can clearly see Rose and he doesn't like it. The man says something and she throws her head back and laughs. He puts his hand on top of hers and she flashes the man a signature Rose Tyler smile with her tongue poking out. The Doctor is getting angrier by the minute but he is still standing in the doorway of the bakery where Rose hasn't noticed him.
The thing that makes him move is that Rose takes out her phone and plays a song. The man offers her his hand and they start to slow dance. Anger pounds in the Doctor's ears as he charges over to the table.
Rose finally sees him and declares, "Actually Doctor, I think Jack might like this dance."
The Doctor opens his mouth and then closes it, all the anger gone as he finally gets a glimpse of the man Rose has been flirting with. Then his ears tune into the song that's playing; the same song Rose and Jack danced to on the ship next to Big Ben. How could he have missed that? He sets everything down on the table.
Rose twirls into the Doctor's arms and whispers seductively in his ear, "The world doesn't end if the Doctor dances."
The doctor pulls her close and she leans her head on his chest. The song ends a minute later and the Doctor invites Jack over to their flat.
"Unfortunately I can't. I have a… date… that needs to be taken care of. I'll stop by Torchwood sometime though," Jack responds.
Once he is out of ear range Rose laughs. "Why Doctor, were you jealous?"
He blushes profusely and sputters, "N no! I wasn't"
"Yes you were, I could tell. I was just telling this Jack about other Jack and how we met."
"You have the song on your phone."
"Mm.. I do. How could I not? It was after all the first time we… danced." She gives him a cheeky grin and pulls him down for a long kiss.
