Unexpected Feelings
It had been three years since she had seen him, and even then she was only seeing him as her best friend's boyfriend, nothing else. But now he's standing in front of her, his eyes clouded and it made her heart beat faster. "Where have you been?" She asks him and he shrugs his shoulders and then smiles at him.
"I had that movie, and then I had to promote it, and then I had more acting gigs. I've been everywhere." He tells her and she nods her head, it's understandable.
"Why aren't you at Miley's door?" She asks, the question that had been burning in her ever since she first opened the door and saw him standing there.
He shrugs his shoulders at her and smiles again. "I don't know." He says and she feels irrated, she needs more then an 'I don't know'.
"Jake…" She mumbles and the shifts her weight from one foot the other, feeling anxious. Miley would be estatic to find out that he back in L.A. She would run towards him and kiss him on the lips, in the same way that she had been telling Lilly for years now. If her Jake Ryan showed up again, Miley Stewart would be insane with happiness.
"Lilly," Jake stepped up closer to her and for a second Lilly couldn't breath, she couldn't do anything but stare at him and wonder what he was doing. "you're the one I've been thinking about. You were the one I almost called a million times, not Miley." Jake says and Lilly shakes her head, not able to believe what she is hearing.
"Jake, Miley loves you. She really does, this can't be happening." Lilly shakes her head and then turns from the door, unable to deal with Jake Ryan and everything that he was saying.
"Lilly," Jake follows her into her living room and Lilly stares at him as he watches her fall to the couch. "I can't help this." He says and Lilly shakes her head.
"Come on Jake. This will ruin me and Miley, she loves you." Lilly repeats, hoping that this time, he would just understand it and go with her.
Instead he sits next to Lilly and places he hand on top of her knee. "Lilly, I can't help it, it's just…unexpected." He says and Lilly loves the way that he says her name and everything after, but she can't do it. She can't.
"I'm sorry, Jake." Lilly says and Jake shakes his head.
"Lilly, come on. I fought with my manager to be able to come here, to talk to you. I don't want it to go to waste." Jake says leaning close to Lilly's face, his breath falling onto Lilly's face.
"Jake, this is crazy." Lilly whispers, too scared to speak any louder, as if Miley might hear her at any second.
Jake smiles at Lilly and shakes his head. "It's fine." He argues and then he leans close to Lilly's face and covers her lips with his own.
Lilly closes her eyes and falls into Jake kissing her and automatically she stops thinking about everything else. There is no other world other then her and Jake in the moment that he is kissing her. As he touches her long blonde hair with his fingers, Lilly feels like she's fourteen again, and she can't help but love the movie star in her hometown. Kissing Jake back Lilly can't help but feel okay with her unexpected feelings.
