"You're pregnant," he said again, staring at his wife.
Jenny nodded and laughed, "Yes, we're pregnant."
Ryan lunged forward and wrapped his arms around his wife's waist and spun her around, causing them both to laugh.
When he put her back on her own two feet he kissed her fiercely on the lips. When he pulled back she took a deep breath and smiled at him before taking hold of his tie and pulling him towards their bedroom, smiling flirtatiously as she walked backwards.
The next morning Ryan hugged Jenny's naked back to his chest and kissed her shoulders and the side of her neck. She flipped over to face him and kissed him back. "Good morning Daddy," she whispered.
"I'm going to be a dad," he whispered moving to rest his hand on her stomach.
"Yes you are," Jenny whispered.
"I'm also going to be late," he said, catching a glance of the clock.
"Do you have to go?"
Ryan nodded, "I need to do the paperwork from yesterday, I got sent home yesterday before I got a chance, and you have work too."
Jenny sighed but nodded, "I know."
Ryan smiled again, "Can I tell Javi and the others?"
"You can tell whoever you want to," Jenny said, kissing his nose, "They're family after all."
"What did I do to deserve you?" he asked as he Eskimo kissed her.
"You are a good man Kevin Ryan," Jenny answered, "That's what you did to deserve me. Now get going before I decide to hold you hostage here in bed all day."
Ryan sighed, "That sounds so tempting but if I don't go in Espo may come and break down the door to check on me."
Jenny laughed and then pushed him out of the bed. Ryan landed in a heap on the floor. "Hey," he exclaimed, "What was that for?"
Jenny smirked, "Get going. I'd rather Javi didn't see me like this."
The duvet had slipped down after she had pushed Ryan out of bed and Ryan could see his wife in all her naked glory.
"Ok," he said standing, "You win." He leant across the bed and gave her a quick kiss before he walked into the bathroom.
When Ryan eventually made it to the 12th he couldn't keep the smile off his face, he was so happy that he and Jenny were go ingot have a family together.
"Morning," he said as he passed Castle and Beckett.
"Late again," Castle teased, "Did you get the test results back and just fell you had to try again?" Beckett rolled her eyes but Ryan could see that she was just as interested in his answer as Castle was.
"Morning Javi," Ryan said to his partner as he sat down at his desk.
Esposito just stared at him for a minute before saying, "Must have been one hell of a night going by that smile on your face."
Ryan looked over at Castle and said, "We didn't get the test results back yet Castle."
"Oh," was all Castle replied.
"Turns out we needn't have bothered though," Ryan continued, "Since Jenny's already pregnant."
There was a moments silence as they all digested his words before Castle said, "Congratulations Ryan."
"Yeah Ryan," Beckett said standing and moving towards him, "Congrats to you and Jenny." She gave him a quick hug before she moved back to her own desk, giving Castle a smile on her way past.
"Congrats bro," Esposito said, fist bumping Ryan before pulling the man up and giving him a brotherly hug.
