A/N: Hey hey hey hey! This is the prologue to a new idea that just won't leave me alone. So, yeah. I'll try and update this, but I'll be away a lot because of vacations and swim meets and such. But, I will probably have a lot of time to write, anyway. And any of you reading Seraphina, then please please please bear with me as I try and locate that notebook. It IS written, mind you. Just lost. Disclaimer: MUAHAHAH! I OWN IT ALL! HAHAHA! Really, how stupid are you? Of course I don't.
The Prank War
PrologueTo say that Hermione Granger was excited would be an understatement. She had woken up at two o clock in the morning, and gotten dressed and ready as if it were seven instead. Her trunk had been packed and repacked multiple times, and she had even taken the time to make her parents coffee and eggs, and to start the car up. After shoving her trunk into the back seat, she crawled in and squished herself between it and the car door, prepared to listen to the radio until her parents got up and ready.
Unfortunately for her, that took until ten, and she had fallen asleep around the four o clock mark. They finally slid into the front two seats and had driven off into London. She could barely contain her excitement as she eagerly glanced out the window. Her brunette curls bounced off her shoulders in her enthusiastic jumping.
By ten thirty, they had arrived safely onto the platform. There were so many sights and sounds; it was hard for her to focus on one thing at a time. It all passed in a blur, saying goodbye to her parents, going through the barrier, getting her trunk onto the train (with the help of some older boys who were trying to impress some girls that were ogling over her 'cutelyness'), and collapsing into her seat.
She hadn't been there for more than an hour into the ride, when a boy with platinum blonde hair and pointed features poked his head in, looking as if he was escaping something.
"Is it okay if I join you?" he asked, indicating the seat across from her.
"Of course," she answered, trying to contain her inner excitement that a boy was talking to her, and not trying to impress anyone. Faintly, you could hear a girl screaming 'Drakey!' in the background. Her companion seemed relieved that she hadn't entered their compartment. He sat down, and stuck out his hand.
"I'm Draco, Draco Malfoy." She grasped his hand and shook it.
"Hermione, Hermione Granger." Her enthusiasm was making her slightly less Hermione-ish, and she was purposely mimicking me.
"Are you mocking me, Hermione?" she shrugged, trying to look nonchalant.
"Quite possibly." He let out a laugh, and they spent the rest of the train ride talking, and he hadn't even been bothered that she was a Muggleborn.
A/N: And thus, their friendship is born! The romance will come later, mind you.
Review, please!
