I really should stop listening to the LotR soundtrack so much. Aragorn and Arwen's theme brought this on. I like Enya and I like the thought of the romance Aragorn and Arwen share. So… yeah. Hope you all like it.

I could not help but look at her. The vision of the Evenstar surpassed all beauty in this world that I had ever known. The first time I saw her I thought I had strayed into a dream, one which I did not want to wake from ever. I felt that my heart would burst at her beauty. Her perfect beauty. I despaired when Elrohir would not tell me her name and so I asked Elrond, my foster father. I found that she was his daughter. Arwen, the Undomiel of Imladris. I knew I had fallen fast into the uncharted depths of love and I sought to pursue her. Though I never imagined that she could ever return my affection.
It came as a shock, but a welcomed one, when I found she did. I spent every waking moment I could spare with her, despairing when I was out of her gracious company. I expressed my love for the Lady Arwen and she assured me that my love matched her own. But Elrond bade that I do not seek her out for marriage, he would not allow it until I should return to Gondor and claim the throne as the noble bloodline of Gondor. A task that I would set to do, for the heart of Arwen.
She urged me on as well and I felt I could conquer the very depths of Mordor itself with her by my side.
And so now, here I was in Rivendell once again, staring into the flawless face of my beloved.
"Do you remember what I said to you then?"
"You said that you would bind yourself to me, forsaking the immortal life.. of your people.." The words seemed unreal as I spoke them - it was a dream that I had often imagined. I touched the trinket around her neck, silently amazed that she would offer me such a thing
"Yes, and to that I hold true." The world seemed to slow down as she placed the necklace in my hand.
"You cannot give me this.." I thought I had misheard the words she said to me.. Surely she could not be giving me this? Her immortality?
"It is mine to give, as is my heart. I would rather live out one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone." She closed my hand around the necklace and looked up at me, those blue eyes I had fallen in love with unfathomable in their depths. "I choose a mortal life."
My heart swelled with love and an undying devotion. I held her soft hands in my rough and calloused ones. This creature had pledged her life to me and I could not have been happier. I kissed her then, knowing deep in my heart that I would never know the need to love another.

From darkness I understand the night:
dreams flow, a star shines
Ah! I desire Evenstar
Look! A star rises out of the darkness
The song of the star enchants my heart
Ah! I desire
