A Spicy Fish Story
It was a warm day in saint Simmons island in Brunswick. We were on a fishing boat. I was sunbathing and listening to Melanie C's album 'The Sea'. That's when I noticed something I noticed Josh freaking out. They caught something.
"Oh my gosh." He said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"We caught Mel." He said. I got to the rail in time to see Melanie flopping in the net. Unknown to the public and her fans, she was a mermaid with a red and gold tail. Her capture infuriated me. She was pregnant. She needed to be free.
"Guys let her go. Its Aunt Mel, let her go." I said.
"Thank you." She huffed. Charlie hauld her up. She was angry. She slapped his face with her tail. He was offended, and he ran away.
"Sorry Mel." He said.
"You're an idiot." She replied. I started untangling her tail from the net. She reached down and rubbed a raw spot left by the net. I went over to her. I helped her to the deck chair, she relaxed a bit. However when Charlie came over, she slapped him with her tail again.
"What was that for?" He asked.
"You gave my tail rope burn." She said.
"Sorry Aunt Mel, he's stupid." I said. She explained what happened. She had been drugged by a boat.. Understandably she wants to hurry home. All of this had taken her from Scarlet. We obliged.
"We'll take you back." I said.
"Thank you Angel." She said. About hours passed and we found ourselves in the English channel. Waiting on the dock was her daughter, brother and parents. She promptly jumped in the water, her daughter Scarlet followed suite and became a mermaid with a pink tail. She hugged her mom tightly.
"Mummy I missed you." Scarlet said.
"I missed you too dear." Melanie said. They held each other for a moment before four others popped out of the sea. These were Melanie's twin sisters. They all gently hugged her. By their faces, they were worried. But they were glad to see her home.
"Melanie I can't believe your safe. Are you OK?" Mrs. Johnstone asked.
"Of course I am Gwen.I'm fine." Melanie replied. Once Melanie finished explaining why she was netted, her sisters were less then pleased. Each of them grimaced at Charlie. They jumped out of the water and slapped him with their tails. He fell to the deck, he drew back in fear.
"That's for netting Mel." Mary said.
"Sorry!" Charlie exclaimed. Without a second thought, I jumped in. I smiled. I wasn't a mermaid but they still loved me. I hugged them each, when I got to Scarlet she kissed me on the cheek. It was sweet.
"I love you anie." She said.
"I love you too Scarlet. " I replied.
"Aw how sweet." Melanie said. Scarlet snugged with her mom. She nuzzled her mom and kissed her cheek. Melanie hugged her and slapped water playfully in her direction. Scarlet returned with the same giggling all the while.
"Me happy you home mummy." Scarlet said.
"It's good to be home." Melanie replied.
