Disclaimer: No, don't own. If I did, there would have been a hell lot more AlexHeph action going on.

Sun and Stars.

Hephaestion paced the halls of the courtroom, which he had just walked out from. That was it; Alexander was married. He had his own family now, and ... Hephaestion was no longer needed. He stared longingly at the shut door, dreaming that it was him and Alexander that was hidden within the confines of the dark room. If only Alexander would come to him, tell him to stay with him, as he did before the battle of Gaugemela. If only he had taken him up on his offer then, but he didn't ... he regretted it now.

Alexander was no longer his. He belonged to that barbarian dancer that had captured Alexander's eyes, and ... his heart. Alexander's heart …something that used to belong to him, and him alone. But no longer; loneliness is his only companion now.

He turned to walk away, heart heavy with sadness and regret. But at that precise moment, the door creaked open, and Alexander strolled out. His eyes locked on Hephaestion and the steaks of dried tears that smeared his crestfallen face.

"Come, Hephaestion. The stars call to us, before the dawn comes and the sun consumes them," Alexander walked over to him and cupped his cheek with his own hand, "You are the stars, Hephaestion, my star. You are the one who shines upon my world when I think not that I am able to go on," Alexander trailed Hephaestion's jaw line with his thumb before dropping his hand and holding it out for Hephaestion to take hold of, "Let us be together for the night, Hephaestion, as it is meant to be."

Hephaestion wiped the tear of joy that slid down his face, and gripped the hand of Alexander, "Aye ... Alexander, my Sun."

"Hephaestion," he smiled, "my Star … my love ..."

The End.

First time I watched this scene, I almost shot up from my seat and shouted, "Just kiss him, damn you!" I almost … almost … my mom had to grab me by the hem of my shirt.
