My dad, well, it has always been very obvious. I knew he loved her during his first presidential campaign. Olivia had barely been on the campaign for a week when Gerry and me joined them for a few days for press opportunities. My dad hang to her every word and only took his eyes of her to look at me and Gerry. Even than he would still be near her, always hovering around her. Like he was drawn to her. And he was happy all the time, something I never really seen of him before, if he wasn't playing with us. A few months later we where trotted out on the campaign again and I realized that Olivia was in love with him too. She was always near him. Always touching him whenever she could, a hand on his arm here, a finger on his chin to lift his head to her, putting ties on for him, lingering hands if he handed her a bottle of water or paperwork. And one day i saw my dad give her a kiss on the lips, they where alone in a hallway and I was going to the bathroom, when I saw them. I hid myself and saw how she was in my dad's arms. Olivia kissed him once more, than she abruptly turned away from him, coming my way, so I snuck back into the office. It was than that I realized that my dad was in love with another woman .
My mom...well, let's just say she is one of a kind. Don't get me wrong, i love my mom, she is my mother after all. But my mom doesn't seem to know what love is. I know she loves us kids, but she doesn't spend time with us. Not a lot and rarely with her initiative. And I do not understand why she stayed with my dad for so many years when their was no love there. My dad had Olivia and I actually felt sorry for my mom.
