"Mommy? Are you…never mind," Mira looked at the wall.
"Never mind? Well, I don't think I'm a 'never mind' but I could be proven wrong." Tetra smiled down at her six-year old daughter.
"Are you crazy?" The little girl asked quickly.
Tetra blinked once. Then she blinked a second time. Deciding that that wasn't enough blinking for being called insane by your daughter, she blinked several more times. "I'm sorry, what now?"
"Are you crazy?" Mira's eyes bore right into Tetra's and she suddenly felt exposed. "It's just that, people on Windfall, they think you're crazy. And this lady offered to raise me, since you're crazy an' all. So I thought I should ask, cuz I don't wanna live with some frumpy old lady." Mira said with a firm nod and crossed her arms in defiance of the idea.
Tetra felt oddly like her mind was going slower than Ganondorf was eroding. "I'm not craz-wait! Who said I'd let some frumpy old lady take you away from me?! I'll punch her to the floor!" Tetra declared while punching one hand into the other for emphasis.
"So…you're not crazy?" Mira seemed quite a bit happier.
"No. Did you think I was crazy?" Tetra felt like this woman had added insult to injury by somehow convincing her daughter to ask her these questions at all.
"I wasn't sure what she meant. Cuz Link calls you crazy and you thank him, so I told her yes, then no, then I wasn't sure, and said I don't know." Mira sat up in the bed.
Tetra blinked again before groaning lightly and asking, "And did you say anything else that is going to make mommy lose face and standing?"
"But your sitting," Mira pointed to the foot of her bed where Tetra was indeed sitting, "and I hope you don't loose your face. That would just be weird."
Tetra touched her face as if to make sure it was there. "Did you say anything else to that lady?"
"The frumpy old one? I asked for some candy and she looked all sad and then I said that I really wanted candy, cuz you don't let candy on board and she looked even sadder and asked, so she is? And I asked, is she what? Who is she? And she was a sad frumpy old lady, then she said you poor dear and said that she didn't have candy and asked if I wanted to live with her."
Tetra felt her brow knitting together with worry. "Then what did you say?"
"I told her to suck my cock."
Tetra sputtered, "Where did you learn to say that?!"
"You said it to Link when he got all nosey. But she didn't seem to think it was as funny as he did, so I left and then you called me over and so I came back to the ship. And-and-and that's all."
"But you actually told this sad frumpy old lady to suck your…?" Tetra made some unhelpful hand motions towards her daughters midsection.
"Yes," Mira replied as if it was the obvious choice of words for any young girl.
Tetra laughed slightly, "You truly, for better or worse are my child."
"That's what Gonzo said when I told him that story."
"You told Gonzo," Tetra felt a headache pound behind her eyes.
"Yup," Mira leaned back into her pillows with a grin.
"And did you tell anyone else that you think your mom is crazy and that because of me, you told this lady to suck your cock?" Tetra couldn't help but start laughing lightly.
"Yup-no…Yes. I told Niko, and…I told Link…and I told Tehran…and he told everyone else. What's wrong mommy?" Mira asked as Tetra burst in peals of laughter.
Tetra shook her head, "I am vaguely terrified that's all sweetie; go to bed and never, ever repeat the weird words and saying mommy uses when talking to Link all right?" Tetra tucked her daughter in tightly and stood up.
"But you say all sorts of things!"
"But I'm also crazy-wait. No I'm not crazy. What I meant to say wasn't that I was crazy, I meant that…go to bed Mira."
"Night mom."
"Good night sweetie."
