Authors Notes: Has nothing to do with the other Fanfic. This will be where I will put all my coupling one-shots/drabbles. The couplings will be as follows: ZoroxVivi, SanjixNami, KohzaxVivi, LuffyxRobin, SmokerxTashigi and whoever else I feel like! The coupling will always be posted at the top of the page so if you don't like the couple you can skip over it. Anyway, I have had writers block on An Old Cliche for a bit, but I'll get it up soon, I promise, in the meantime, enjoy these as I add to them at random whenever I please!
Disclaimer: Besides the villians I create I don't own any of this! I don't want Oda-sensei to get me for copyright or infringment laws. Thanks so much.
It wasn't until a great while after they had reached the end of the Grandline that Zoro was able to return to her. When he returned to her country he didn't find her in Arubana, the capital. She was very close to Rainbase, next the the great Sandora river.
Some of the foliage had returned to Alabasta, after the rainfall had returned to normal. It was raining that very night in fact. She was sitting underneath a large magnolia tree that had grown over the last few years he had been gone from this place. She had her feet in the water and and the rain was making the flowers fall around her in small tumbles, some of them rolling off her and following down into the river. The full moon could be seen through a small haze of clouds, giving everything a surreal look to it. She was quite the spectacle to be seen that night. She looked much more like a goddess, rather than a princess. A true Venus in the dark. The gem of the desert.
She didn't look at him when he approached her, instead she continued to watch the steady flow of the water and the effect of the raindrops on the river. He felt inclined to watch it with her and did so, silently thinking to himself.
"Where are the others?" She asked him softly after a long period of silence.
"I left them in Arubana. They're coming to visit you tomorrow. One of the running ducks brought me here tonight." He paused, "He went back after dropping me off in Rainbase though."
Zoro didn't know for sure exactly why he added that last comment. For some reason it seemed important to emphasize that they were alone...
Vivi nodded and continued to watch the water for a moment, then "Why didn't you wait to come with the others?" she asked him.
Zoro frowned and stayed silent. He didn't have an answer to that, he wasn't sure himself. But when Vivi received no answer she looked up at him. She had to crane her neck quite a bit since he was standing and she sitting, but the angle of her head made all the raindrops on her head sparkle in the moonlight and once again he thought himself to be in the presence of a goddess.
He kissed her then, kissed that goddess sitting under the tree with the water at her feet. The kiss was soft at first, and then entirely more desperate, as if he had been thirsting for it all his life. As if he had finally found water in a vast desert.
