Hello my lovelies. I wrote this poem at 11:53 last night, like I normally write my poems. It's quite odd really; my inspiration only seems to kick in late at night, which is why I have so many migraines during the day. Don't worry though; I don't grudge the sacrifice of my well- being for writing.
Some of this poem probably won't make sense, but that's fine.
INFORMATION:
1) Hellas was the old term for Greece.
2) Persephone's name before she became Queen of Hades was Kore, or Kora, which means Maiden, or Girl.
3) Persephone means two things, Bringer of Light, or Destroyer of Life.
4) The Dark God was another name for the God of Death, or Hades.
5) Demeter was called the Lady of Grief during winter, due to the fact that she longed for her daughter.
6) The Ancient Greeks believed that ichor ran in the veins of the gods, instead of blood.
Enjoy!!
Eternal Cold
She walks in beauty,
In the night.
Her heart as cold,
As stormy light.
In the shadows,
She rules supreme.
Never wanting,
What could have been.
Her soul is bare,
For all to see.
But they are blind,
And so is she.
A double life,
She spends eternal.
In the dark,
She tames the inferno.
Free of life,
Chained from death,
Her life is pure,
Filled with black.
Her name was maiden,
Her name is dark,
She cries aloud,
The victory march.
Ichor gold,
Fills her veins.
Immortal queen,
Impartial reign.
The Dark God,
Is husband to she.
Daughter of Earth,
The Lady of Grief.
In all of Hellas,
Her name is sung,
Told in tales,
In the archaic tongue.
And yet her name,
Is still unspoken,
Bringer of light,
Stealer of life.
Persephone.
