"Lana?"
Lana turned her head towards the voice and away from the man she had been question.
"Lois." She said. Startled she released the man from her grip with a thump he fell to the ground and ran. "Dammit."
"Sorry I let your bad guy get away but you're a superhero, now?"
Lana stepped back as she saw the face Lois was making. She remembered that face. The face of a women, who wouldn't let anything get in the way of what she wanted. Once she had thought she could have fallen for that girl but boys and superpowers sometime get in the way.
"What do you want? I left Smallville and everyone in it for a reason." Ignoring the question. Lois face faltered as if remembering the past. She hadn't told Lois why she had left. Instead had let her assume whatever she had wanted.
"Is this why you left?"
Lana couldn't take the hurt look on her former crushes face, was it even former? She turned to walk away.
"Why you left me?" Lois's voice was hard. "I thought we had something. That we were going to be together. Is this why you left? I was falling in love with you!"
Lana stopped cold at those words. No Lois didn't get to do this. Didn't get to bring up things she had been trying to forget for years. She could feel the warm of the emotions she had thought faded. "These powers were hurting people. I didn't want to hurt you too."
"But you hurt me anyway." Lois's voice was coming closer. She could her the footsteps.
Lana turned. "I never meant to. I'm so sorry Lois." She could feel the tears threating to fall. Then the warmth of Lois' hands on her face.
"Don't leave me this time."
"I wont'."
Lois pressed a light kiss to Lana's lips. "Promise me."
Lana smiled for the first time since she left Smallville. "Promise."
