Jace finds Clary's sketchbook.

I own no one.

Takes place after the kiss. In the City of Bones.

Jace was wandering around aimlessly as he often did when he had too much time on his hands. He had long discovered how much could be discovered by a little sneakiness and a pile of curiosity.

Today, his target was Clary. He felt so evil. It brought on a kick.

Clary, he knew was off somewhere doing something with Isabelle. Who knew?

Anyway, it was easy enough to pick her lock.

In her room, he knew there was only one thing that could tell him about Clary: her sketchbook. A little voice in his head cackled evilly, and he wondered if he was sane. He doubted it.

He ran to his room, hiding the book under his shirt.

He flipped it open. A picture of a house. A mansion thingy. It was nice. Very nice. Reminded him of home.

The next page depicted several birds, hawks, eagles, peacocks, pigeons. All sorts. None were very detailed, but all quite realistic.

The next few pages was trials and retrials of detailed birds. They were beautiful. But he'd seen all of this before.

He flipped to about half way. Hmm. And a bit more.

Ah here's a new one. It was of Hotel Dumort. It was nice.

And the next page was brilliant. He had to admit that. It was a picture of him, standing on top of the building, looking down at the ten story drop as if was a challenge. He chuckled. She'd captured it perfectly.

The next page stunned him. It was a picture of him with wings. It was royal, and majestic and magical. It was so simple. Nothing had been created, but the way it was put together was stunning. It looked so real that if he touched the wings, he expected soft down. He loved it. he didn't know why, but he was also partially flattered. Hmm. Maybe she did need a nude model.

And other such rambling thoughts passed through his mind, but there was only one sane idea, confirmed. Maybe she does like me.

Not how I expected it, but well. Here. REVIEW OR DIE BY SUGAR COATED DONUTS. And a slab of cheese. And an old umbrella. :D

Love,

Lady Merlin.
