A moment of warmth
As I sit in the driveway, thinking
About whatever in life.
Dreaming more like it.
The sun kissing my face.
Warming my body, as I feel the pavement have the heat soak through
My clothing.
Trees whispering in my ear lost tales of
The ancient times
The older ones have their wisdom drawn to you.
Angry bird calls towards the pesky cats lurking by their nest.
They have become unwanted guests.
I wish to talk, to play.
But, I am stuck here.
For some odd reason; feeling like
Magnets pull towards my door.
I know things are waiting for me
On the other side of that door,
But I am not ready yet.
Give me a few more.
A few more tears.
A few more laughs.
No more fears,
Just for a moment please.
Then a hawk flies by,
My messenger in the sky,
I'm okay,
So I take a step towards the place I call home.
I steal a moment
To think...
What to do now?
