Sea green.
Stormy grey.
Deep brown.
She stares back at them defiantly. She won't apologise. She will not bow down. She had a reason, she knows it, they all know it. The Athena girl (Annabeth) she remembers is speaking. If she strains, she knows what the girl is saying. The words are rough, threatening. She hates them.
"Why Calypso? Why?" The girl is shouting. Percy -Perseus, he doesn't deserve the nickname- puts his hand on her shoulder. Chiron does the same. They are united, their eyes boring into her. Annabeth's eyes are flashing.
"What have I ever done to you?" She is screaming. The words scrape on Calypso ears and her mind fills with angry thoughts. Her eyes shine with anger and she stays silent no longer.
"You dare to ask?" She says scornfully. "You dark to ask me why I have cursed you? You, who has been filled with jealousy at the cause of a mortal? You who filled the home of many innocent maidens with murderous pirates for the purpose of saving him."
Calypso notices the the couples eyes widen. They have forgotten, she notes gleefully. They have underestimated her. They did not think she would have proof, evidence, memories belonging to them that they have long forgotten.
"Yes, you may have been in the depths of Tartarus, but you have done wrong many more than only me. You are both familiar with my curse I am sure."
She know's they are, pauses for the sake of her own merriment.
"Every man who comes to Ogygia never stays Annabeth. The Fates have left me with a broken heart. It will never be mended. Imagine if Perseus wasn't with you. Instead, imagine if he was with Rachel Elizabeth Dare instead. All your kisses, secrets, never would have happened. Your heart would be broken, wouldn't it."
It wasn't a question, rather, it was a statement. Even now, Annabeth was territorial of Percy, just slightly standoffish to Rachel when the Oracle was with Percy.
"Now Annabeth, imagine if that happened over and over again. If you knew you would spend all eternity having the man you loved then having him quickly taken away, never to return. That is my curse. Yet you, you have everything! A perfect boyfriend, a beautiful home, no curse. Do you honestly have nothing better to do than both me?"
There was a brief moment of silence.
"You're right." Annabeth said softly. "I guess I didn't look at it from your point of view."
Calypso kept her eyes trained on the daughter of Athena, but out of the corner of her eye she saw Perseus and Chiron leaving the room.
It is difficult for Annabeth to admit this, Calypso knows this. After all, the girl's fatal flaw is pride. So she makes it a bit easier for the daughter of Athena.
"I suppose I acted a bit rash," she said.
"Perhaps you did," Annabeth said slowly. "But nonetheless, I'm sorry."
Calypso gets up. She is slightly taller than Annabeth. She puts out her hand. Annabeth grasps it. Calypso speaks.
"Apology accepted."
Hey guys! This isn't meant to offend any Annabeth lover's. I just feel like Calypso is misjudged, and that she really shouldn't be. I'm not insulting Calypso haters either, because I used to be one, and I know the mindset. This is my first time writing something like this, so please tell me if I did good or not. Stay awesome!
