Chapter 1; The beginning of the end

With only a glance around the room I knew something was wrong, Edward emerged from the kitchen and wrapped his strong cold arms around me, Carlisle looked up at us from where he was sitting, he wore a sad smile,
"Bella" Carlisle started
I bit my lower lip, terrified of what was coming, Rosalie looked nervous, even though she was snuggled against Emmett, I could tell from Jasper's face that he was tring to calm the room down, but getting no results, it was the fact that everyone was too worried and scared to have their emotions changed that scared me more than having Carlisle look frightened
Carlisle sighed, Esme, reached out and took his hand "Bella, I don't know how to tell you this but-"
The world stopped for me, as far I was concerned, the world had stopped spinning, the words that Carlisle spoke, repeated in my head; 'Charlie, danger, death, Renee, graduation, time, Volturi' It was too much, I gripped my head and stared at the floor
"Bella" Edward asked, I was able to hear the worry in his voice although he tried to hide it "Bella, look at me"
I glanced up, into Edward's angle like face as I tried to piece together the words, they didn't make sense, I shook my head again, Edward leaned down and kissed my cheek, his cold gentle lips brought me back to reality.
"We are going to have to get rid of Charlie" Edward whispered into my ear
I winced at his choice of words, 'get rid of' could mean so much, couldn't it?
Edward laughed, looking down at me, sometimes I really do believe he can read my mind "Bella, I chose my words very poorly, I apologize, I mean that he will have to leave Forks"
I smiled up at him, unable to make out words, he was the perfect boyfriend, he was so nice and could admit his faults without a tinge of embarrassment "I'm okay, and I knew what you meant" I suddenly felt a lot better, reassurance flooded through me, I looked over at Jasper, he was smiling, and I knew my new found courage was because of him, I took a deep breath, than asked Carlisle to repeat himself
Carlisle nodded, and started from the beginning again "Alice, has seen the Volturi getting ready to come here, they are determined to end your life, if we haven't already, Charlie will be in danger if he stays here, Renee will become in danger if they don't find you and need to use her to get to you. We have very little time, a day, a day and a half, whatever it is it is soon and we are not prepared"
"I'll take her away" Edward announced "Somewhere they'll never find her" He wrapped his arms around me
"Edward" I started "I can't leave Charlie and Renee" I looked down at the floor "change me now"
Edward sighed, and looked over at Carlisle for support, but Carlisle just looked down and nodded. I should have felt great I was finally getting what I wanted after months of fighting, the only problem now was, I didn't really want it anymore.
