German Chocolate

For Batman, the day had been a long one.
For some reason, Joker thought it appropriate to attack a bank around 4:00 in the morning. It took 3 hours to fight, chase, and catch him. Since he was already up, he patrolled for a while before Poison Ivy stopped traffic around 10:00AM.
The rest of his day involved corporate dispute between Wayne Enterprises and Luther Corp.
Now, at 6:00PM he's on his way to Mount Justice. Black Canary asked him to help her set up an obstacle course for the teen heroes. Luckily he would be gone before any of the arrive at 8:00PM.
"Welcome Batman," the computer announces as he enters.
Looking around, he is pleased to see no teenagers in the building. As he starts walking towards the training area, an intoxicating smell reaches his nose. Chocolate, coconut, and cherry liquor fills the air with the luscious aroma of German Chocolate Cake.
Batman would never admit it to another hero, but he has a weakness for a good German Chocolate Cake. Making a quick decision, he turns away from the training room and heads to the kitchen.
When he gets to the kitchen he feels two feelings stronger than the rest, annoyance and hunger.
On the counter are two cakes. One cake is complete in all its dark glory, while the other is being carefully frosted by pale hands.
Those pale hands belong to 15 year old Wally West. A loud, excitable teen who has the annoying habit of making Batman almost smile.
Wally looks up and his eyes widen when he notices Batman. He had been too concentrated in his work to hear the computer announce him.
The red head quickly finishes frosting the cake and fidgets. He is sure that the Dark Night is glaring at him from behind his mask.
"Um...Happy Birthday?" Wally says meekly, glad he is on the side of the counter opposite to Batman.
Batman frowns at this, "It isn't my birthday."
"This is the day that Batman first made an appearance, so essentially it is your birthday. I asked Robin what your favorite cake was," Wally explains with a blush.
He had hoped that making the cake would at least put him on the adults non-grumpy side.
The man thinks about it a moment before deciding that the speedster is correct. He did become Batman officially on this day X# of years ago.
Deciding the silence uncomfortable, Wally gets a plate, knife, and fork before quickly serving Batman a slice of cake.
"Here, at least try it please sir?" Wally offers, trying to be polite in hope of not being on the receiving end of the Bat-glare.
Taking the plate Batman sits down. He almost smirks at how nervous the teen is.
The smell of the cake is intoxicating. The look of the slice promises delights.
After the first bite, he has to grudgingly admit, at least to himself, that the teen is a great baker. Given time, he might reach Alfred's level of culinary expertise.
The taste of chocolate, coconut, and cherries bathes his taste buds. After finishing the slice of the rather slowly he looks at Kid Flash.
"Thank you," he says before standing and heading to the training room.
As Wally watches the man walk away he almost falls over with releif. The smile that comes to his face could light up the Batcave.
"HE LIKED IT!"
