"HOLY SHIT!"
Catherine Grissom jerked awake and almost fell off the bed. "What? WHAT?"
She watched in astonishment as her husband bolted out of bed and continually rubbed his hand over his face. He then shook his head violently.
"Gil? Are you having a heart attack?"
"Oh. My God."
"Gil, what's going on?" She was starting to get really concerned.
Gil moved back to the bed, his body above hers and began to kiss her long and hard. Catherine moaned low in her throat, her arms wrapping around his neck.
"Catherine, sweetheart, I love you more than anything in the world, and you know that…"
"Breathe, honey. Just breathe." Catherine arched an eyebrow. "You look like you're about to start hyperventilating."
"I…" he gulped. "Nightmare. Horrific."
"Come here."
Gil crawled closer to her, starting to kiss her in hot, wet kisses. She was more than happy to comply for a few moments, but curiosity got the better of her, and she eased her body back a little.
"Honey, what's going on?"
"I was in Sara's bed."
Catherine's eyes widened and she shoved her husband back onto the bed. "You were WHAT!"
"No…Cath…" Gil managed to get himself up again. "Not really. I just had a nightmare."
She shoved him backwards to lie flat on his back. "I do not care. You do not go into Sara's bed – in a nightmare or otherwise!"
"I can assure you I didn't want to be there."
Catherine crawled her way over to him, cuddling up to his body. "Good. Cause I'd kick your ass." She paused. "And hers."
"I don't have feelings for her, Cath." His hand gently caressed her cheek. "Not the way I do for you."
She lifted her head up and they shared a soft kiss. "I know," she whispered back.
"The whole thing was awful."
"Tell me."
Gil sighed. "I wanted to die from cancer."
To her embarrassment, Catherine found her eyes filling with tears at the thought of it. "Don't you dare die on me."
"Cath…"
"I mean it, Gil. Just standing there, watching Jim fight for his life – it could have been you."
"I wasn't on the case."
"You could have been. And I refuse to let anything happen to you. I couldn't stand it."
"Nothing will happen to me, Cath." Gil cupped her face, smiling at her. "You're stuck with me now." His thumb brushed across her wedding band. "This makes it official."
Catherine kissed his lips and then his wedding ring. "Okay." She snuggled up to him, closing her eyes. "And stay the hell out of Sara's bed."
"That, my dear, is a promise. The only person I want to share my bed with is you."
She smiled and cuddled closer. Her nimble fingers trailed down his chest, bypassed his erection and tickled his legs. "Want to share the bed now?"
His eyes lit up. "Really?"
Catherine moved swiftly, her body covering his. "Really. I wouldn't want you to go to bed after having such a horrific nightmare without something really good to cheer you up."
Gil chuckled. "Just having you curled up to me is always a good thing."
"Well…." Catherine teased, lifting herself off him a little, "if I can't tempt you…"
In one quick movement, Gil had turned them over and he was pressing her against the bed. "Now, I didn't say that."
She giggled and leant up to kiss him. "Mmm. I didn't think you did."
Gil's hands deftly lifted up her nightgown and tossed it over the side of the bed. "I think it's time for a very good dream."
Catherine lifted an eyebrow. "A dream? Honey, I assure you that tonight is going to be out of this world!"
