Tyla sighed deeply, her normally bright eyes growing dark as she watched the pair in front of her. Sometimes she wondered how it was possible to remain so in love with someone after years and to still trust them no matter what. She knew that what had happened to her was mostly her fault and that she really had no right to complain about her past, but when she saw Aurali and Kyran together, she couldn't help but feel jealousy bubble up inside of her. It was obvious how much they loved each other and everyone knew that Kyran was willing to die for her. And although she didn't mean to sound jaded or rude about it, but what had Aurali done to deserve such a wonderful person?

Biting her blue lip softly, Tyla turned her attention away from the pair and directed her stare at the ground. That wasn't something she should think. Aurali had done just as much as everyone else on the crew. She deserved happiness just as much as the next person, if not more so. It didn't make seeing her friend so happy so easily when she was still struggling with her own depression any easier though. It wasn't like she enjoyed being so cold and aloof to her own friends, but it was so hard to try to move on from what he had done to her. Maybe she was overreacting like Aurali said. Maybe she was taking it too hard and should just move on. But there was something in her that just wouldn't let her. Aurali had never really moved on from Kyran, who was her first love, so why should she be forced to move on from hers?

Swallowing softly, the offshoot forced the thoughts out of her head and stood up stiffly, turning to leave the room quickly. Aurali and Kyran were so wrapped up in each other at the moment that they wouldn't notice her swift exit anyway. She loved her best friend, but she was very easily distracted when it came to that man. Not that she blamed her. Although Kyran was just a friend, it was easy to see why anybody would be distracted when looking at him. He was gorgeous. Just not her type.

Searching for the sanctuary of privacy, she was glad to see that nobody was in the room that was so often shared between the girls on the ship. Quietly closing the door behind her, Tyla slid down the door and sat down on the floor, wrapping her arms around her legs and hugging them to her chest. She hated being this weak. By the Force she hated it. Especially since everyone seemed so convinced that she was the strong, cold, unbreakable leader. She was as far away from that as possible. She was so broken she barely even knew where all her pieces were.

Force, she really was getting more depressed.

But not knowing whether or not he was safe, not knowing whether this unknown threat had got to him or not…it was silently killing her. She would almost forgive him for everything if he would just contact her and tell her he was okay and that he was going to be fine. She was almost that desperate to know he was fine. Then again, she wasn't completely willing to forgive him yet. She loved him still and there was no way to deny that, but she still wasn't convinced that he deserved her forgiveness just yet.

The soft sound of Aurali's laughter broke Tyla out of her thoughts and she jerked slightly, turning to look at the door. At least Aurali was happy. That was one good thing. She really did deserve it. And even if Tyla herself wasn't ready to be happy just yet, she could always just fake it. It's not like anyone would know the difference.

And the one person who would know was the only person who could actually make her happy again anyway.
