"Roses"

Jessie held her hands under the faucet of the bathtub. Just the right temperature,
now for the bubbles, she thought.
She added to the water some bubble bath.
Jessie struck a match and lit twenty vanilla candles and popped in Mozart.
She flipped off the light and was surrounded in twilight like light.
She breathed in the scent of vanilla that had taken over the little room.
She pulled her red hair into a bun and stepped into the steaming bath.
She settled in, and relaxed.
It was Valentine's Day and Jessie had spent it alone.
Race, Dr. Quest, Hadji, and Jonny had gone to a little village in the heart of Ecuador.
Jessie had opted not to go. Now she was wishing she had.
Valentines' day turned into Valentine's night. Go ahead, pamper yourself, she thought.
And so, she did.
Jessie relaxed till the water turned cool and the candles almost burnt down.
She got out. She pulled on her yellow floor length nightgown, and turned on the intercom
so she could hear the music throughout the house.
Then she went down to the kitchen to make hot cocoa. In the door to the kitchen she froze.
The room was filled with yellow roses. The living room was also filled with roses.
Not an inch of the room had been missed.
On one of the roses she found a card...on it was written, "After all, it is Valentine's Day!
Love Dad, Dr. Quest, Hadji and Jonny.
