I own nothing to do with Veronica Mars. Other than the DVD's.
No one ever questioned why they choose the girls they did. No one ever dared to question. But there was a reason…
When Logan first moved to Neptune, he instantly became attracted to the young beautiful Veronica. She was funny and smart; she played soccer and video games, loved swimming, was a cheerleader, and was unlike any girl he'd ever met before. She was a mixture of wild and subdued, naive and cynical, girly and tomboyish. And Logan was immediately fascinated. But Veronica Mars was not the type of girl he could have. Veronica Mars was the kind of girl who dated the guys like Duncan Kane. Logan tried to forget about Veronica, tried to go for more rebellious girls. A girl like Lilly Kane – so different to Veronica Mars. That's what he once thought. But Lilly and Veronica were best friends. Lilly had the same blonde hair as Veronica, and was a cheerleader in the same pep squad. He'd unintentionally chosen a girl like Veronica. All his girlfriends tended to fit the one mould – they were all blonde, skinny, and most were cheerleaders, like Veronica: Lilly, Caitlin Ford, Hannah, Parker…even Madison. Logan tried to deny the fact, but the truth was he was still caught up on Veronica Mars.
Dick had liked Veronica before Duncan, before Logan even. He'd known and liked her before she became accepted. She wasn't an 09er so he trusted her to keep his secrets. They met at the beach one summer. Dick understood what she meant when she talked about her mother drinking, his mother had been just the same. She'd been the first girl he'd ever really liked, usually it was just about looks. But Veronica was different. When she began to conform, to fit in, Dick began to withdraw from her; no one knew they had been friends, so it was easiest to pretend. When he first started with Madison he questioned himself as to why it was another blonde, but pretended he didn't know - it was best that way.
When Lamb had spotted Madison in the club he'd immediately thought of Veronica. With her blonde hair, and godly body. He knew Madison was in the same year as Veronica, he'd heard things. And something about knowing that Veronica was the same age as this other blonde made Lamb hot. Within 10 minutes he had her in the car and on the way to the Neptune Grand. The whole time he was with Madison, Lamb could think of nothing but Veronica goddamn Mars. It became a sort of obsession, and he hated himself for it.
Duncan knew that he was still in love with Veronica, he was pretty sure he would always be. He did think that Meg was amazing, but he first really paid attention to her because of her resemblance to his first love. Meg was so much like Veronica had been in so many ways. They were both skinny, beautiful, innocent, and kind, with long blonde hair. And they were both cheerleaders. He did love Meg in a way, but at least part of that love was based around how much like Veronica she was. Veronica would always be his true love. Always had been, always would be.
