"Sesshomaru-sama!" cried Jaken. "Waiiiiiit!" Scrambling after Sesshomaru, Jaken thought of the many times he had envied human's and large youkai's long legs.

"Jaken." Sesshomaru's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. "Stay here. Tonight I must go alone. If I come back tomorrow afternoon and you are not in this very spot,..." Gulping at the ominous sentence, Jaken squirmed.

"Yes, Sesshomaru-sama" he squeaked.

"Very good." said Sesshomaru, and leaped into the air. The wind seems to be alive today... Kagura, is this your doing?

It was almost twilight when Sesshomaru reached the field of flowers where Kagura had become one with the wind. For a long time, Sesshomaru stood there, in the exact spot he had stood five years ago. Then, as the sun sank below the horizon, he raised his head and smelt the air. The scent of the wind and Kagura was everywhere. When the sun had pulled all of its orange light from the sky, a feathery breeze played across Sesshomaru's face. Kagura! It whispered. Kagura! She is come! Kagura! His eyes widened with shock. The breeze did not lie. There in front of him, faint and cold, but real, was Kagura. "Hello, Sesshomaru." she whispered. Kagura smiled a sad smile.

"Kagura...How are you...How is this..Tenseiga couldn't save you, so...?" Sesshomaru questioned.

"I am here because I have taken the job of the wind, I am the wind, and I control the wind. In return I am lent one day of each year to appear as I am now. I chose this just as you tried to save me. Tenseiga did save me, but not in the way you had thought. Your sword has given me many years of freedom, the thing I most wished for, even if it is in this form. For that, I thank you. Tenseiga could not have saved me if you had not wanted to." Kagura smiled again.

"Of course I wanted to save you. You..." Sesshomaru trailed off. "You fought for your freedom, not for greed, and you would do anything you could to get it. You were the perfect fighter, and you didn't give up because it was too hard, or unworthy. I wanted you to stay with me."

"Then stay with me." Kagura challenged. "For when the sun rises again, I shall fade and become one with the wind. Stay the night, and dance with the wind."

With that, Kagura hurled a dozen wind blades at him, and jumped on her feather. Blocking the blades, Sesshomaru rolled them on his sword and directed them back at her. Sliding to the side, she waved he fan and the blades faded. With another wave, she directed half a dozen whirlwinds at him and flew out to behind him, where she produced another set of wind blades. Slicing the whirlwinds until they were only breezes. Jumping on to one of the wind blades, Sesshomaru danced with the wind and Kagura. Twisting their bodies to a beat unheard, they lunged and parried in a spinning pattern. Slicing and sweeping they danced, weaving a confusing complicated footwork show, all the while fighting until- "Dead" said Sesshomaru. His sword was under her chin. "Five years too late." said Kagura. Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes and stepped back. He looked away and saw the sky lightening. Dawn. Turning back to Kagura, he only saw her crimson eyes before he felt lips on his lips. When he opened his eyes, she was gone, and the sun had risen.

Making his way back to where he had left Jaken, Sesshomaru felt as if the wind were carrying him.

If you want more, tell me so, and I will write more! Poor little Jaken! His legs are so short!
