"The Beginning and End"

Summary:
Stories of events warp as time passes, but the records can be corrupted from the beginning. This is the truth of the sealing of the Kyuubi. AU
AN: A completed idea spawned years ago (when I was more obsessed with Naruto).
"It's a conspiracy!" Kyuubi stated outraged, glaring at the fourth leader of that worthless place.
"Well too bad!" he said with broken eyes, "It's the only chance I have, and for you too, you're just too stubborn to admit it." He paused for a moment to gather himself, then stated with a hollow voice, "Besides, as a result either my village will prosper, which is what I want, or be burned to the ground, as is your wish."
Chakra swirled around, lashing out at the surrounding forest they were in, pressed to greater heights by its rage and desperation. "Why did you have to fall in love?" Kyuubi moaned, "And to her of all people. That woman made you believe that! She twisted you around her finger until you would believe anything she said. She got you to care for that worthless village and made you become its leader.
"It's not worthless! You haven't seen the village like I have. Just let me do this."
"But you'll die…"
"And you'll be safe," the blond cut across. "Along with the village. With us outside this plane of reality the carnage will stop. I couldn't ask for more."
Kyuubi sighed and laid down on the forest floor. "If it weren't for that cursed village we wouldn't be in this predicament in the first place," he grumbled in defeat.
"No use complaining about it now," the ninja replied, starting the hand-seal sequence. There was silence except for the rustle of leaves and the screams in the distance.
"I'm sorry," the Kyuubi growled when the sequence was almost complete.
"Don't be," said a sadly smiling mouth, "I have the easier role. I'll be dead." And a light enveloped them both, streaming away with something intrinsic from both of them as the Kyuubi's form dissipated. The far-away screams disappeared leaving an eerie silence as the fourth Hokage's body fell into the autumn leaves.
A baby with whisker marks on his cheeks mysteriously appears in Konoha's hospital with a swirl of chakra, for which he's named.
