"Okay I'm leaving now "Sarah shouted to her mum who made a gesture for her to keep the noise down. She nodded and grabbed her towel off the side, rolled it up and placed it in her satchel. Stepping out onto the street, the radiant summer sun beat down on her legs; still a milky white although school would start in 2 weeks. Luckily, the beach was only a short walk down the path-so close she could hear the waves lapping onto the beach from here.
After a ten minute stroll down the dirt path, she reached the beach that lay situated near her house. She felt so lucky to live near somewhere as amazing as this. Her hair danced in the delicate sea breeze as Sarah stood still, surveying her surroundings and searching for a suitable tanning spot. The beach was quite large with a turquoise sea lapping at the front and ancient, black caves that gaped all around the edges. Various games were being played at the seafront-volleyball and badminton mostly-and gaggles of girls tanned themselves or swooned over the boys flexing their muscles as they displayed their athleticism. Sarah spotted a quiet spot nearby and treaded carefully in the soft, golden sand to reach it. After laying her towel down on the ground, she took off her shorts and tank top to reveal a skimpy, orange bikini. Sarah was rather lean and unusually tall too;as her mum wasn't the tallest of women,so skimpy clothing was no bother. Sliding her sunglasses over her eyes and laying down,Sarah began to gaze around her, taking in the scene.
That's when she saw lifeguard, sitting high on his perch, gazing around like a male lion surveying his territory. His jet-black hair, the same colour as a raven's wing, tousled in all different directions and flicked frantically in the warm sea breeze. He was nodding slightly as he listened to music through his headphones and his hands were shoved into his short pockets. Bright red shorts, the colour of Sarah's cheeks right now, as he caught her staring at him. Instantly, she looked down at her feet and she made a melodramatic effort to pull them out of the sand. His face was a light brown,a sure sign he spent a lot of time in the sun and from here she could spot dimples on his pink cheeks as he grinned at her. He turned away again and continued listening to music. Sarah took this as an opportunity to head to the sea, maybe even ask him if he wanted to join her.
So she started walking over to where his 'perch' was, eyes transfixed on him, when suddenly the world disappeared from underneath her. A pathetic excuse of a scream escaped her lips as she wasn't graceful like a girl in one of those romantic movies she enjoyed was real life and Sarah was stuck at the bottom of a hole, limbs flailing everywhere. A few tears trickled down her cheeks as she hugged herself tightly-this was not how she imagined her day at the beach. "You seem to be stuck"a voice remarked overhead and a light chuckle was heard looked up and saw a hand reaching down to instinct, she grabbed it and with mighty strength,he hauled her out of the hole. Her cheeks flushed as she saw him in the light,so close. "T-thanks"she stuttered, her eyes distracted by his rippling six-pack.No wonder he doesn't need a shirt she thought. "It's what I do"he chimed and held out his shook it and a warm tingle seemed to zip down her spine like an electric jolt."So you often help girls which have fallen down holes?"she asked, raising her eyebrows. "I'm Sarah"she muttered afterwards."Oli and no,I can safely say you're the first one"he gave her a lazy, crooked smile revealing a set of perfect white teeth."I guess I'll see you around then...Sarah"he winked at her, before turning and wandering back to his chair;leaving Sarah to...recollect her thoughts and find the strength to walk back home.
