It hurt to attack his friends and break their trust, it hurt even more to attack Bart. Which was why he knocked him out first before he attacked the others. Even though the brunette knew that this was necessary to secure his place with the Reach completely, the Latino didn't want the speedster to see him doing that.
"It was necessary Jaime Reyes." The Scarab's voice rang in the back of his mind and the teen closed his eyes for a moment as he flew through space to get back to Earth. To report to the Reach. Act like a puppet.
The thought left a foul taste in his brain if that was even possible. 'Don't worry cariño. I will destroy the Reach,' Jaime thought as he got closer to his home planet.
Back on the large satellite Bart groaned as he regained consciousness, his hand came up to rub his head. Bleary green eyes opened, he blinked a few times until his sight focused, then the brunette felt his stomach clench with an unpleasant feeling. 'It had to be done,' He thought sadly as he stood up. He had to help the others right now.
'Be careful Jaime.'
