The Triangle
Prelude
The Gryffindor common room was silent except for the low mutterings of two boys sitting in the high back red plush chairs by the blazing fire. The clock struck one as the waiting Gryffindor students began to doze in their chairs. Deep, steady breaths of students could be heard and every once and a while a grumbling snore would issue from near the window. However there was one pair of dazzling green eyes still staring intently at the boys the fire throwing shadows across her face.
Lily Evans was sitting on the edge of seat, sleep far from her mind, she was a night person and the adrenalin had kicked in hours ago. Long dark red hair was spilling down her front and her long legs were neatly crossed. She was tall, always had been, around 5'7'' and loving it.
Lily was just entering her 6th year at Hogwarts, Prefects badge neatly pined on her school robes. Most people would describe her as energetic and crazy, never afraid of being herself and never caring about what people though of her, confidence seemed to ooze from every pore, though Lily was never the one to say it. She was probably the nicest girl in 6th year, well unless you count the Marauders, she despised them as they did her.
As she watched one of the boys yawned while the other lazily shook his hair out of his deep blue eyes. Unlike most girls Lily wasn't staring because they were "The hottest boys to EVER walk the halls of Hogwarts" as girls were easy to remind her. No, she was simply awaiting their decision. James and Sirius however didn't seem close to an answer.
