Even They Need To Cry

Zoro sat by himself in the crow's nest, feeling completely empty and lost. He stayed silent as the wind whipped through his short green hair, and sighed, gripping Kitetsu's hilt tightly.

It's been two weeks since her death. Recover already. Kitetsu sang.

But it hurts too much. Zoro replied silently.

You're strong. Kitetsu hissed.

Not strong enough.

Yes you are.

Not yet. It's too soon for me to be ready to accept her death. Zoro refused to accept the fact that she was gone.

Weakling! Kitetsu snarled.

Shut up. Zoro willed his red blade to be silent for once.

You can't keep me out. Kitetsu growled.

Zoro knew this was true. Since the first time he'd set eyes on the cursed sword, he knew it would be a problem. Ever since the first time he'd drawn it, it had called for him to shed more blood. He had refused each time, but it's cries had amplified in volume and were deafening at most times. Zoro shut his eyes tight.

I'm going to kill every last person on this ship, you know. Kitetsu's voice crept through a hole in his subconscious.

Not if I stop you.

You can't. You know you can't control me. You never have been able to.

Shut up! Zoro ignored Kitetsu.

Zoro. Listen to me...

No.

You know who killed the archeologist?

What? Zoro's mind snapped back to reality. You mean... Robin?

Yes. Robin... Kitetsu cackled.

Who killed her?

You did.

Silence.

What...?

I controlled you. You went straight into her sleeping quarters and stabbed her cleanly through the heart - you drew me, and KILLED her.

No... I would never...

But she's dead, isn't she?

"I didn't kill her!" Zoro yelled out loud. The crew underneath weren't startled by his sudden outburst from his internal struggle; the wind carried his voice away from their ears.

You did.

I...

You. Killed. Her.

No!

Yes.

"Then I will kill us too," Zoro murmured.

What?!

You spread evil. You through me, and you will continue to do this.

No-

"Goodbye, mina," Zoro whispered. He grabbed Kitetsu by its blade; the sharp metal slicing his palms, and shattered the blade.

NO!

Zoro smiled, grabbing all of the shards of metal and plunging them into his abdomen and neck as he fell towards the deck of the Thousand Sunny.

Nami screamed as he hit the deck.

"ZORO!"

But it was too late.

Kitetsu III had claimed it's final victim.
