Hi Guys! I have a new story for you. I was thinking, What would have happened if Valkyrie had not tried to live both of her lived, with her Reflection only helping. This may be short, but it was all I could do before my inspiration ran out.
I know that in this, everyone is OOC, but I just had to do it. It's crap, but here it it. I hope people like it. (:
Valkyrie looked at her reflection in the mirror. She had something to say to it, and she had a feeling that if it wasn't said, bad things were going to happen. She had to do this. There was no backing out.
She touched the mirror, and her Reflection stepped out. The Reflection stared at her with blank eyes, waiting for her orders.
Valkyrie took a deep breath. "I have something to tell you. Listen carefully, and remember everything:
I'm learning magic, and when I'm out you have to take care of my family. You will take my place, and you will do anything that I would normally do. You will graduate from high school, maybe go to college. But the most important thing is that you will have a life.
You have to live a good life, make my…our parents' proud. You should not only be a reflection, you should be your own person."
The Reflection's eyes showed vague interest. Valkyrie steeled herself, and when she was ready she finished: "From now on, you are not my reflection, you are Stephanie Edgley. You are your own person."
Stephanie showed something akin to shock. The purpose of a Reflection was to be there when needed. This sort of thing had never happened before. She was… a person. Not a reflection, but an actual person. Stephanie couldn't speak, so Valkyrie did instead.
"We should still share information, so then I know what's going on with you, and don't break your cover, and you get knowledge of fighting and magic, so you can protect our family. I will probably want to switch with you occasionally, so I can see Mum and Dad. And I'll probably sleep here. Just so you know."
Stephanie managed to form words. "I think I'll like that…" She said faintly.
Suddenly, Skulduggery's voice came in through the window that Valkyrie had left open. "Hurry up, Valkyrie, we have stuff to do."
Valkyrie gave one last look towards Stephanie. "It's up to you now. Don't screw up." Then she climbed out the window. But not before she heard what was once her Reflection's words.
"I won't."
Valkyrie shared a smile with Stephanie. "I'll have to trust you on that. I'll be back soon."
Then she was gone, leaving Stephanie with a purpose. On that Valkyrie knew Stephanie would not fail. After all, Stephanie originally came from her, and she would never let harm come to her family.
Inadvertently, Valkyrie just caused the future to be a better place.
Stephanie stared at Valkyrie, as she got into Skulduggery's car, from the window. Stephanie was looking forward to her new life.
