Entei's front paws
left a burning print on the sands
like ash – spewed over fireflashed land.
What little life that remained
burnt and shrivelled away
before the new green shoot that rose
from the sand.
The ice of death crept back
from whence it came
and the stubby little candles of life
were lit again.
