A/N: So, you get a 282 word canon non-pairing drabble. CANON! THAT'S NOT FUN! But I really just wrote this out of boredom at around midnight sooooo. But anyway, ENJOY :D
While Ron was hell-bent on hating him, I'm, well, curious. One did not become so malicious merely by chance. Dudley was kinder than him, and the dementors had something on him when they attacked summer before 5th year.
Of course, I am thinking of the one and only Draco Malfoy.
I'm not crushing, oh no definitely not that! I'm happily married to Ginny and very much want to keep it that way. And well, Malfoy himself was married, though nobody knew or recognized the girl.
Back to my point. I KNEW something had happened to Draco. A little step to far over one to many lines and the traps snapped. Malfoy became a ruthless, merciless, and obedient follower of his parents and Voldemort. But did he really completely snap?
Every once and a while, even through their school years, you could catch him in a moment of weakness. When Hermione had punched him in third year, a flicker of respect had flashed across his pale face before the cold mask, now with an added red mark in the shape of a fist, returned. Sixth year, I had walked in on the now young man, sobbing his heart out. The moment of indecision when facing Dumbledore.
Oh yes, I could see the signs, the momentary flickers. But I could not be smart enough to know what it was that caused it. Not even Hermione could! For Malfoy hid well. I am however, smart enough to know to not ask, if I at all value my own life.
Malfoy is different, and nobody else will ever know why.
A/N: OMR! Something Canon! I feel like paragraph 2 last sentence could start up a Dramione with inheritance, changed appearance etc. and I was so VERY tempted but I wanted to try writing a canon SOMETHING. Even if it's just a non-pairing drabble.
