Whispered words in the ear of a boy king murder Eddard Stark.

If he was a honest man, he might even regret the sacrifice of a good man.
If he was a cruel man, he would feel pleasure at the heartbreak of it all.
If he was a proud man, he might congratulate himself on an unexspected move in the game.
But some masks go so deep they can never be taken off again. Endless lies eventually become the truth.
He is the Spider. He feels nothing. Nothing at all.
A/N: This is based on the idea that in order to achieve peace in the seven kingdoms, Varys plans to let the Starks and Lannisters all murder each other so that the Targaryen can return and rule again. I'm not sure if that is my personal interpretation of canon facts or completely AU. You can decide for yourselves, I guess.
