"Look at me, Izayoi. I want to see the love shining in your eyes," the inu no taisho said. Crooking his finger under her chin, he tilted her face upwards.
"My lord…" she said softly as he leaned in to kiss her. Their clandestine meeting had a dream-like air about it, so much so, that Izayoi was convinced that when she woke up the next morning, she would believe it all be a dream. But how could one have the same unending dream each night? she wondered as she kissed him hungrily. Besides, the absence of her moon cycle, which she blamed on her stomach troubles, told a different story. This was one dream that was, in fact, reality.
Still, Izayoi stubbornly clung to the space between a dream and reality, where nothing existed but her youkai lover and herself. There were no consequences to their actions, no life taking hold in her womb, only his gentle touch as he loosened the tie to her sleeping kimono, slipping the opened garment from her shoulders to pool at her heels. She blushed when he stepped back to admire her naked body in the moonlight as she tried to cover herself.
The inu no taisho chuckled softly to himself over her attempt at modesty. Only a few weeks earlier, she had lay in the grass, legs spread wantonly as she cupped her small breasts, inviting him in. He remembered taking her gently at first, afraid he would hurt her, and when she proved to be made of sterner stuff, he made love to her with great passion. The way he found himself taking her again, the pale fragile human, who held his heart in her trembling hands.
As the moon shone down upon them, they each prayed this dream would never end…
