A/N: I wrote this in 2008 for a "Letters to Santa" Challenge on LJ. It accompanied letters written by a couple other friends of mine there, but stands on its own. I tweeked it a bit from the original, because there was just one bit that was bothering me, but it's otherwise unchange.
"So you all wrote letters to Santa Claus?" Dr. Oliver asked his students and Dino Thunder team mates, surprise evident in his voice. "I would have thought you'd all feel too old to believe in him."
"We do," Ethan quipped, "I just wrote mine so Conner'd have to. And then he did, and Trent did and Kira did."
"So now we're thinking you could too, Dr. O." said Kira with mock sunniness as she placed a notepad, pen, and a stamped and addressed envelope on the professor's desk, directly in front of him. "Make it a team thing." Both looked at him expectantly, figuring he'd grumble about it, or claim to be busy with marking so some gentle teasing could ensue until he caved.
He stunned them when he simply said, "alright," picking up the pen and paper and angling it towards himself so the two couldn't see, glaring at them every now and again when they tried to peer over.
Dear Santa,
I hope you and the rest up there are well. I got your postcard from your vacation, Greece looks great. Maybe one day I'll go, but I'd have to go to any McD's they have. I'm not a big fan of Greek food.
I'm part of another ranger team as you no doubt know. We're doing well at holding Mesagog at bay. Mesagog probably doesn't believe in you either, but if he ever came to the North Pole to cause trouble like Rita did, you can be sure the Dino Thunder Rangers would be the first to come stop him.
I apologize for their skepticism towards your existence. Not every teen gets the opportunity to meet you in person like myself and the other original rangers. They're good kids, aside from a few indiscretions on their parts.
Thanks again for the study guide you brought me last year. It was a big help when I needed to put together lesson plans. I hope I'm helping my students learn.
I don't have much of a list this year, again. Even with a teacher's salary I can afford to get most of what I want when I want it. Some extra tools for the lab would be handy, and appreciated, though.
I'll remember to leave cookies and milk. Say hi to the elves and Mrs. Claus for me.
Merry Christmas,
Tommy Oliver
Tommy tore the letter off the pad, folded and stuffed it into the envelope, sealed it and handed it to Ethan. "Could you put it in the mail for me? I still have some papers to mark."
