"Y/n! Get downstairs right now! We have guests!" That was my mother, she's really nice don't get me wrong, but sometimes she can be such a dictator! Come on, you know that feeling you have when your parents tell you to do something and you really don't want to do it, but your parents being your parents make you do it wether you like it or not. Well that's me right now in this unlikeable situation. You'll soon see exactly what I'm talking about when I call this situation unlikable.
"Alright!" I shouted, "I'm coming!"
After responding to my mother's orders I slid off my bed and walked downstairs to my living room. At first everything seems normal, my mom sitting on one couch, a couple sitting on the one across to her, all three of them happily chatting up a storm with one another. The problem finally arises when my gaze lands on a certain ash blonde slumped on the couch nearest to the corner of the room.
His name is Katsuki Bakugou and let me tell you right now that I'm not a big fan of him. I've known him since childhood and all I've seen him do is pick on Izuku Midoriya who hasn't done anything wrong to the living time bomb! I've just been unlucky enough to be that time bomb's neighbor. To make it worse, my mom now works with his dad so today they're all having dinner at my house to catch up with one another.
My past with Katsuki is similar to the one Izuku had with him, except for the quirkless part, though recently it's been announced that the previously quirkless Izuku Midoriya has found out that he's and extremely late, late bloomer. Which is awesome to hear! I could only imagine what Bakugou's reaction to that was...
I actually used to have a crush on Bakugou and I'd be lying if I said a small part of me still doesn't. The only downside to this is that nowadays Bakugou is about as likable as that pile of crap that lays on your front lawn.
"Oh Y/n!" My mom greeted, "Mitsuki! Masaru! Y/n's here! Y/n say hello!"
I smiled shyly while waving over to the couple, "O-oh! Hello! Long time no see." I greeted.
The couple smiled back in response. Mitsuki was quick to walk over and envelope my into a big hug. "Oh goodness!" She said, "Y/n's grown up so much! She's a young lady now!"
I saw her look over to her son in the corner who didn't look interested in anything going on at the moment, "Katsuki!" She began, "Say hello to Y/n! It's been a while since you've spoken to each other despite the fact that you're classmates! I have to apologize for my idiot son's behavior!"
Bakugou looked over at the group before turning back away with a sneer. He didn't say it out loud or anything, but I know that his actions meant a "Like hell I will!" That rude jerk...
"Gosh!" His mother sighed, "That boy is really something else! One of these day I outta teach him a lesson! I apologize in advance, he's been like this for a while now..."
My mother shook her head, "No it's ok! Kids these days are always here and there. Even Y/n can be like that sometimes!"
Both Mitsuki and Masaru laughed at this before continuing their conversation.
I didn't want to talk to Bakugou and yet I didn't want to come out as rude either... especially not in front of my mom.
I sighed before approaching Bakugou who didn't look like he even wanted to be here... well at least we had something in common at the moment!
"Bakugou, if you want something to eat there's food in the kitchen." Gosh! Speaking to him so civilized felt so foreign to me! Usually if we speak we're fighting about something.
"Tch," Bakugou responded, "Get outta my face Yakkai."
Oh yeah, just as Bakugou has a nickname for Izuku, he has one for me as well. Yakkai, can be interpreted as troublesome.
I slightly glared at Bakugou in distaste before walking away. "Mom!" I shouted, "Call me down when we're having dinner!"
My mother was somewhat aware of the bad blood between Bakugou and I, so she let this one slide.
After reaching my room I laid down onto my bed and put on my headphones. Doing this I immediately began playing some music. Other than this I just stared up at the ceiling flipping through whatever thought ran through my head. Bakugou has only been in my house one other time before this... It was while Izuku, Bakugou, and I were still able to communicate with each other like normal people.
It was actually my birthday, not my 5th but my 4th. Everything in our relationship took a swan dive as soon as I turned 5 years old. After all, out of the three of us I was the youngest. This means that by the time I turned 5 years old, Izuku was proclaimed quirkless and Bakugou became an even bigger jerk than before.
I must've fallen asleep soon because he next thing I knew, someone punched me in the gut. Hard.
"Gah!" I grunted. I immediately jumped up to face my attacker and immediately frowned. What the heck was Katsuki Bakugou, the biggest jerk in middle school (now high school), doing in my room?
I was about to say something before noticing Bakugou's gaze looking at something. I followed that gaze until it landed on a small frame on my desk. In it was a picture of Bakugou, Izuku, and I on my 4th birthday. We were all smiling, nothing was faked and all of us were genuinely happy with the presence of the other. Nothing like nowadays.
"Get the hell up you idiot." Bakugou stated, "Your mom's tried shouting from downstairs so they made me wake your sorry ass up. It's time for dinner."
After that the blonde left me to myself in my room. It didn't take long for me to get downstairs. By that time, all four of the people down there had food in front of them though no one touched it yet.
My mother smiled before patting the seat next to her, "We're waiting for you silly."
I smiled before sitting next to her. The adults continued to talk as Bakugou and I sat and ate in complete silence.
After eating I excused myself and went back upstairs. At that moment I realized that Bakugou followed me back to my room. An action I was genuinely confused about.
"Is there something you want Bakugou?" I questioned.
He didn't answer as he walked over to my desk and held up the picture of the three of us showing it to me. "Why do you still have this?" He asked an uncaring look on his face.
I narrowed my eyes before snatching the photo and placing it back onto the desk. "I don't need to tell you.." I muttered.
"Hn" Bakugou huffed, "I don't believe you."
For some reason he began advancing towards me forcing me to start backing up. This continued until my heels hit the edge of my bed causing me to flinch. Bakugou used this moment to pin me down onto the bed with a fiery gaze.
"Tell me why you ou have it Yakkai." He demanded.
"Oh," I snarled, "Why would you want to know? You obviously don't care about Izuku and I nowadays!"
Bakugou's eyes changed in a way I wasn't able to explain, but his grip on me didn't loosen on me at all.
"Just tell me you idiot."
I sighed before relaxing myself under his form. This isn't gonna end well...
"Look," I began, "I don't know if you can believe me, but I still care about the relationship we had long ago. When we were still able to speak to each other without getting mad at the other. When we were able to talk for more than one minute without yelling at each other. You know... when we were still friends."
As I said these words I felt tears building up in my eyes. I don't know why I had to start crying now! In front of him...
"I-I just..." my voice began to crack, at this point I didn't know what else to say. In the end I didn't have to though.
I soon felt something heavy lie on top of me which was more than a surprise! I didn't expect Bakugou to just lie on me so casually.
"B-Bakugou?" I questioned.
All that answered me was a slight huff, "Shut up..."
He sounded tired as he said this. Right now I didn't know what to think, Bakugou's never acted like this before.
I didn't question him about it because I had a feeling that he probably wouldn't answer me anyway. For a while he just stayed in this position and I began wondering if he fell asleep. Moments later though we shifted in position, this time he was behind me, but had his arms wrapped around my waist keeping my body next to his. He probably was asleep because his breaths became softer and came at a more pattern-like pace.
I too actually began to fall asleep as well. I would never admit this to Baukugou's face, but I actually liked this.
A few more minutes passed before the weight next to me lifted itself off my bed. He was probably leaving soon...Before the blonde left my room though, I felt something warm land on my forehead. Whatever it was stayed there a while before retracting. After that I heard footsteps walk away from my bedroom.
I stayed in the position I was for a bit, trying to comprehend exactly what just happened. Was that actually Bakugou? Did he do that thinking I was asleep?
It was soon when I had to go back downstairs to say goodbye to our guests. Mitsuki and Masaru both said goodbye (Mitsuki gave me another hug). When I glanced over at Bakugou he seemed just as bored as he was an hour ago. I didn't know what to do, but waving didn't seem like a bad choice. I waved to the blonde expecting nothing in response which was what I got for a while, but if I looked hard enough I could see a small nod.
The three soon left the house and my mother and I began cleaning whatever mess was left. Thankfully there wasn't much of a mess to clean.
Part of me wondered if Bakugou would stay the same at school and act like nothing happened and to be honest I would expect that, but it wouldn't hurt to dream right?
Alright everyone! Thanks so much for reading! I hope I wrote Bakugou well...If enough people ask I'll make a continuation of it!
