Moody/Bellatrix.
AN: Set at the beginning of the First Wizarding War.
He knows she's only there under Voldemort's orders, nothing better to get a man to spill information than a pretty young a face. And Bellatrix is pretty, there's no denying that.
He feels sorry for her. Yes, he feels sorry for a Death Eater which is why he gives her useful but harmless information. He knows there are at least six others she's sleeping with to gather information.
Once he offered to help her get away from Voldemort, promised to keep her safe. She had declined his offer and he wished she hadn't. There was still something there worth saving in her, but the more she falls under Voldemort's influence the more it dwindles.
Sometimes he watches her sleep and she looks so childlike its hard to imagine that she's cable of doing the things she'd rumored to have done.
He loves her and it kills him to know that he can't save her.
