Author's Note: I can this idea walking off campus the other day and couldn't help but put my idea on paper! (: Crack pairings are the best, ne?
She could see it in his eyes. The desperation to be free. He locked eyes with her and she saw something else now. It was determination. The determination to escape. She stared at him, at his shackled wrists, which were drawn up above his head. He held her gaze for a moment, a smile hidden upon his lips, before he stared down at the tray in her hands. It was then that she saw something new flicker in his golden eyes: hunger. She couldn't remember what he had said to her about feeding him, something inappropriate maybe. The tray felt heavy in her hands and she resorted to setting it down next to him. It was fleeting, but as she sat the tray beside him, he grew serious and stared at her. Her heart pounded in her chest, the blood pulsed in her ears and her face went red.
"Rose," He murmured, almost dreamily. She thought he was going to say more but he did not. Instead, she felt herself crouch down and stare easily into his golden eyes. They shimmered with something different. A kind of desperation that could not be explained but was merely felt with the heart. He leaned forward a bit and she followed suit. They met in the middle, passionate and fierce. Their lips became wet and their tongues ventured. Despite his current handicap against the cement wall, they continued, whispering to each other between kisses, not sure how to explain what was happening. She finally whispered his name, unsure whether passion or regret were lacing her words.
"Edward," She breathed. He paused for a moment before he slowly began again, kissing roughly, desperately. She could feel his heart beat and smell his hair. Pine, chocolate, and charred wood. To him, she smelled of strawberries and warm pie crust. He relished in her warmth, strained to kiss her deeper. A hand traced his jawline and he fell still, entranced by her touch. She traced over his lips with the tips of her finger before leaning forward and kissing him again. They exchanged gentle kisses now, light and fleeting. He knew he didn't love Rose, he understood his escape was within minutes and he would never see her again. So why did Edward Elric do this?
Merely an act of desperation to be free?
