"I will never submit to you, demon! You will neve-" In a instant, the lone artificer was disintegrated, and all of his knowledge was transferred to the tentacled monster looming ahead. He was known by many names, but most often was ascribed the name "Vel'Koz", meaning in the ancient tongue, "To understand by unmaking."

Vel'Koz's original goal was once shared by all other voidborne beings, to understand the mortal word, so The Watchers could silence it. However throughout the thousands of years Vel'Koz spent collecting information, he began to wonder what the point of it all was. Perhaps over time he had gained autonomy from the beings whose knowledge he absorbed. Perhaps deep down, he envied the mortals and their free will, emotions, goals, and other various feelings. This culminated in him forming his own goal. In an instant, he no longer cared for The Watcher's interests, he was the controller of his own fate, and he lusted for one thing, and one thing only.

Information.

Unfortunately for him, he knew all there was to know about Runeterra. He had traveled to the farthest reaches of Demacia, to the desecrated cities of Shurima, to the islands of shadows, and to the peak of Mount Targon. He had seen everything there was to see, and the slow pace of which mortals developed new things was starting to infuriate him. He craved nothing but information, he yearned to know everything there was to know, and just to his dismay, mortals just weren't creating anything worthwhile anymore. It no longer entertained him to see them battle for one reason or another, or to live their daily life, he craved something more… enticing.

So he went out in search of an impossible device, a device that would allow him to travel outside of the Void itself, to travel to new, unknown, and unexplored lands beyond imagination. Vel'Koz kept this goal to himself, and threw away his original goal of gathering information for The Watchers, much to their dismay. But in the end, there was nothing they could do about it, so Vel'Koz continued on, in his search. What he needed was knowledge on advanced magical technology, he needed to construct a device which could pierce the void, allowing him to travel past it.

Thanks to this unlucky artificer he had just consumed the knowledge of, he now had the final pieces he needed to construct the device. All he needed now was the materials, and the tools. The tools would be easy, the artificer had tons that Vel'Koz could adapt for his own use. Meanwhile the main problem was materials. He theorized that several extremely powerful crystals would be required, as well as a magical engine so immense, that the celestials would feel it being turned on.

So he thought of where he could get some of these crystals. Getting them from the caves of Mount Targon would be trivial, but the celestial presence, as well as the presence of a certain interstellar dragon known as Aurelion Sol made gathering said crystals all but impossible. So he hatched a plan, he knew mortals were simple, and would do extreme tasks in exchange for promises of unfathomable power and wealth. He simply located a nearby village, and waited for the most powerful human in said village to go to sleep. Vel'Koz then proceeded to manipulate said dream to simulate lucidity, and talked to the warrior.

"Mortal. I have graced you with my presence, and I have a request I must make of you." Vel'Koz stated, his artificial voice giving a sense of impending doom.

"Who… who are you?" the warrior stated, now believing that this dream was in fact a vision, and that he must heed the words.

"I am known by many names, but you may know me as… The Allbringer." Vel'koz had to think of a name on the spot, and "The Allbringer" was all he could think of in the moment. "I am willing to bestow upon you a single wish, In exchange for you fulfilling one of my requests. Do you accept my deal, mortal?"

"If the wish may be anything I desire, then I will oblige, oh powerful one." The warrior replied.

"You must go the highest point of Mount Targon, and mine for me as many crystals of power as you can. You must make sure not to tell anyone of this. Fulfill this task, and you may be granted one wish." Vel'Koz was lying through his metaphorical teeth. He had no way to grant wishes, nor did he have any interest in doing so. Mortals were easily manipulated when tempted by a higher being, so he used this to his advantage.

The warrior kneeled to the ground before replying. "As you command powerful one. I shall pilgrimage to Mount Targon, and bring to you these crystals of power." The mortal dared not question why an all powerful being needed crystals mined for it, for it was blinded by the prospect of a wish. Vel'Koz subsequently left the dream, and now all he needed to do was wait.

But he still needed the magical engine. He thought that if he were to build a network of smaller generators, it could act as a bigger one when networked properly. Luckily magical generators were trivial to build, it would only take time. So he got to work, locating an undiscovered forest for which he could build the device undetected.

Vel'Koz had lost count of the time that had passed, but he knew he was nearing completion. The generator network was complete, and so was the altar. Now all he needed was the crystals. And to speak of the devil, the warrior had come back just in time, crystals in tow.

"I have come back, Allbringer, after all these years. I have braved the wilderness, crossed hundreds of kilometers, and now I'm back with your crystals. I can't wait to tell you of my journey, I meet all kinds of different pe-" The warrior was interrupted by Vel'Koz unleashing a disintegration beam onto him, killing him instantly.

"Mortals… they will devote their entire lives to false hopes, interesting." Vel'Koz stated, picking up the now void-charged crystals. He began to insert them into the altar apparatus, and then activated the mechanism. He knew in no time the Celestials would catch wind of a powerful magical anomaly, so he quickly had to configure the device and leave. Just as the device was activated, He could feel the magic around him warping unnaturally, signifying the Celestials were nearby.

Sure enough, a white, hairy humanoid with an amulet for a face, as well as a floating little girl of which he could feel immense power from arrived. No words were exchanged, but both parties knew who the other were, they knew this was Vel'Koz, the oldest voidborne, while he knew this was the fabled Bard, collector of magical artifacts, as well as Zoe which he knew little about other than her mystical power. Negotiation wasn't an option, on account of Vel'Koz being a void-monster, so he quickly positioned himself on the altar, and defended his position using his deconstruction laser. Large swaths of forest were cut in half while Zoe dodged the laser, closing in quickly. Bard provided buffs for her during the process, and Zoe was very quickly getting close to Vel'Koz. Luckily the generator reached maximum power at the right time, and a huge space-time ripple was created.

Light was behaving weirdly as the laws of the universe were violated by the huge energy source. It curved around and round, not dissimilar to the black hole, centralized on Vel'Koz. Bard forcefully pulled Zoe back, as they both watched the ever expanding black disk consume more and more forest. Eventually, the black disk quickly imploded on itself, producing a cavitation explosion, leveling the forest for miles around. Everything that was consumed by the black disk was now gone, simply evaporated from existence, all that remained was a huge crater, and a network of overloaded generators.

"That was awesome! Let's do it again!" Zoe said, excitedly.

Bard rarely said anything, but he knew that what was done here could have had catastrophic consequences if executed wrong, however he had no idea how such a device was constructed in such a low amount of time. Unfortunately he didn't have much to go on, all he knew was that Vel'Koz was involved, and so was immense magical energy. They went back to Targon, not sure how to interpret what they had just seen.

Vel'Koz regained consciousness, or the voidborne equivalent, in a pitch black area he quickly identified as the void itself. However he felt… different. If the device worked, he would now be able to pierce the walls of the void and travel to other planes of existence, and there was only one way to find out if he had succeeded. So he activated his newly found ability, and accelerated to speeds unfathomable to mortals. In the moment of truth, he broke through the wall of the void, and was sent hurtling through the web of multiverses. Overwhelmed, and for once in his long life, overjoyed at the prospect of brand new information, he went to a random one, hoping for the best.

AN: I'm planning to send Vel'Koz on a tour of all my favorite universes. I've got a few lined up, but if you have any ideas for universes he could visit do not be afraid to let them be known. The FF mods never responded to my support email so I'll just put them in this story, regardless of whether or not they are technically "crossovers"
