A/N: o0 I am in a weird mood with lots of free time, and a strange sense of humor.
: D I am neither a Kataanger or Zutarian, but I have friends/acquaintances on both sides, so I'm not bashing any ship in particular as much as poking fun at stereotypes of it's supporters. Please don't take offense.
I don't own Avatar, or Zutara or Kataang. I guess I own poor Jess and Eric and all the other little OC's scampering around, but you probably don't want those. I totally call dibs on the name 'AwesomeCon' though! XD
Jessica Perdue was an average girl. Well, the fact that her last name was also a brand of chicken did make it a little difficult among her peers at times. And…she was also a bit of a dork. The current thing this fifteen year old was dorking over was Nickelodeon's hit show Avatar: The Last Airbender--sure, the age demographic was 6-10 year old boys, but it was a good show!
Of course, she wasn't the only fifteen year old girl to obsess over the series, nor the only fifteen year old girl to obsess over it's most popular ship: Zutara.
The ship Zutara is assumedly something any Avatar fan with a working internet connection is aware of; and this is awareness is especially assumed to any Avatar fan brave enough to read fan fiction. However, for the sake of that one person who may need it the author will offer an explanation.
Zutara is a word derived from the names of two of Avatar's leading characters; not sobad-boy angstbucket Zuko and not sogood girl leading lady Katara. This ship (relationship for those not up to date on the latest Avatard lingo) is most popular among girls in their young teens who, due to the fact that they cannot be in the show themselves, pair up the prettiest available girl closest to their own age to who they consider the sexiest and broodiest male close to their own age (i.e. Zuko).
Many an afternoon Jessica had spent locked in battle with those who opposed the great Zutara, and when not doing that she was busy finding and reviewing evidence for the Zutarian cause.
Yes, Jessica lead a good and simple life until she discovered the wonder of AwesomeCon, an anime convention which was to be held in the neighboring state. Jessica, who was also a large fan in anime decided she HAD to go and would simply die if she was unable to. With this logical argument in hand she was able to strangle a 'yes' out of her parents by week's end. Now for a costume. The selection was easy, who else but dear Zuko's passionate one true love? Yes, Jessica would be cosplaying Katara!
A/N: Hm, I considered putting more, but that would go against my nature for writing painfully short chapters. XD It's actually even short once on the site, sorry.
Just testing the waters with this first introduction of our lovely lady Zutarian. Stay tuned to meet the Kataanger.
: O And I admit to being totally inspired by the concept of 'Tales of Two Shippers' by Emiko Ishida, because she let you sign up to be in her fic and I couldn't resist doing so! However no gAang in this, purely a fanfic about the fandom (that's allowed right?). XD But if you think you'd like to enter the cast of congers tell me about yourself and I'll consider it.
