Close your eyes and listen. What do you really hear? Cars? Trains? Planes? No, you're too far away from it all to hear the sound of cities. The sounds of sorrow, poverty, and hunger. You hear the wind blowing through the grasses. You hear the almost silent beetle crawling around your feet. The birds have never been louder. A woman calls your name but then it's silent. You think you've been there before.
Now open your eyes, what do you see? Not what you heard. You see children running from one hallway to another, as if they were late for something. Flashes of color on black surround them, green, gold, blue, silver, and yellow. Some fight, some read, and some laugh. You turn around and walk out the large double doors that are the exit and you see grass, trees, a lake. You feel like you've been here before too.
The sun is shining, and many of the children have shed their hot robes, but you're not hot. To be honest you're the opposite, you're freezing cold. As if it's the middle of winter, and you're outside in the snow in almost nothing.
A young girl comes up to you, her bright red hair shining in the sun, her smile almost brighter. You know her, but it's impossible, she's dead. A boy comes up next to her with black hair and glasses. You can't breathe now, or where you even before? Everyone around you is dead.
You're thinking about how you even got there, and you don't remember. Then it hits you... The last thing you remember is a large grubby looking man screaming something at you, then there was a flash of green and here you are. You still don't understand it until it truly hits you.
You are dead.
