Eternal Snow

"I'm sorry Honda-san," he said to her.
"You don't have to apologize to me; I should apologize to you for the trouble," she said to him.
A smile like a sticker to hide her broken soul.
Tears hidden from the world.
His hand touched her head.
And she was gone, like the melting snow.

He sat at the desk, staring at the plane ticket held in his hands as if it were the plague.
He couldn't stay here much longer, not with her memory in his head, the Amaranth that tortured his soul.
"I'm sorry Honda-san; I only wanted you to be happy," he whispered to himself as a single tear fell from his eyes, a single drop of time in this maelstrom of events known as life.
He would never witness what the snow became when it melted, for he lived in a perpetual winter.
