There was a time in her life Ellie was a nice person...before her father died suddenly and her mother had made her move to Florida immediately after his death.
Ellie grew up with a mother who was nothing but horrible to her which made Ellie a handful at times. She started drinking at a young age with her very very older boyfriend Lance who at the time was 27 and Ellie was only 16, Lance was nothing but nice to her...that was maybe because he was a druggie.
When Ellie turned 23 she had finished Law school and had dumped Lance just before her 18th birthday, as she moved out when she turned 18 to go to Law school.
Ellie thought her life wouldn't get much better than it was now. She loved how everyone in the court room was afraid of her, how they called her all sorts of names under their breath. Hell even the guys on trail was terrified of Ellie sweating all the time when she opened her mouth, but this all came into her favour because she always won!
Ellie was good at her job and she loved it very much she loved waking up in the mornings to go and scare new people at work each day. The only day Ellie didn't like was her birthday...now two reasons Ellie didn't like her birthday was one it fell on Valentine's Day which to Ellie she didn't understand why it's the one day in the year people tell each other they love them, plus it was cheesy and Ellie didn't like being cheesy. The second reason being it was the last time she ever saw her father before he died, her and her father always did the same thing on her birthday go out and tell each other how much they hated Ellie's mom, and then go grab pizza.
This day however Ellie's 25th Birthday would change her life forever, but she didn't know it yet.
Ellie was on her way to work as usual and suddenly out of know where someone bumped into her...
"You've got to be kidding me!" Ellie screams bending down and picking her things up whilst also wiping her clothes as the persons coffee spilt all over her "can you even see...or do you need some assistance?" She carries on
"I'm so sorry miss" the voice of a man says also grabbing his things "I didn't mean to"
"Oh well as you've said sorry I should just take your apology" Ellie said sarcastically
The man stands up and holds his hand out for Ellie, "can I help you up?"
Ellie looks at the mans hand and then looks at the man, she slowly takes his hand and he helps her up "thanks...I guess"
"No problem" the man says "I'm Andy"
"Ellie"
"It was nice to meet you Ellie"
"Oh yes it was nice of you to bump into me and throw your coffee all over me"
Andy laughs a little "your welcome"
And then something surprising happens Ellie had a smile on her face
"You have a lovely smile Ellie"
"Thanks" Ellie says dropping her smile, she looks at her watch "I have to go. Bye" and she leaves just like that
Andy watches Ellie walk away and smiles "hey wait" he says running after her
Ellie turns around looking at Andy "yes"
"Do you maybe want to grab some lunch later...as a way of apology?"
Ellie looks at him for a moment, "I'm really busy..."
Andy cuts her off and gets out his business card from his pocket "ok well give us a ring when your free so I can make it up to you"
Ellie takes the piece of paper "alright" she looks at his card "so your an accountant?"
"Yes I am. What do you do?"
"I'm a lawyer" Ellie says "I really have to go. I'll call you" she says as she hurries off yet again
Andy smiles again after her and walks off in the opposite direction.
Ellie's Office
"Miss Ellie" Ellie's assistant Lucy says knocking on the door
"What is it Lucy?" Ellie says putting her glasses on top of her head
" is on line 3"
"Tell him I'm busy" she says putting her glasses down and typing on her computer
"He says it's important"
"Well tell him I don't give a monkeys ass" Ellie says continuing on her computer
Lucy leaves the office and Ellie picks up the business card Andy had given her, wondering whether or not to call him
"Miss Ellie" Lucy says again appearing back into Ellie's office
Ellie sighs and looks at her "yes"
" won't take no for an answer" she says nervously
Ellie sighs again "what's lines he on?"
"Three"
"Thanks Lucy" Ellie says as she picks the line up "what do you want Frank?"
"I've been trying to reach you all morning"
"Well that's funny I've been trying to ignore you all morning"
"We need to discuss the O'Brian case"
"The only thing we need to discuss is how long I feel like putting his ass in jail for"
"Aren't we being a little Hasty Ellie?"
"Really? I don't think so, your client isn't getting away with a murder charge" frank tries to speak "I mean for gods sake Frank, he killed his baby brother and then his family, I'm not even taking another look at this. I'll see you in court Frank" Ellie hangs up the phone holding the card again in her hand
"Why the hell not" Ellie says as she dials the number
"Reeds Accounting department how may I help you?" A voice says
"Erm yes hello, can I speak to Andy Torres?"
"Of course can I ask who's calling"
"Ellie"
"Ok hold on please"
As Ellie hears the awful hold music she starts to panic about what she's going to say to Andy, she's about to put the phone down when he answers
"Andy Torres"
"Hey Andy it's Ellie"
Andy smiles on the other line "hey Ellie how are you?"
"Besides changing clothes this morning I'm good thanks"
"Yeh I'm so sorry about that"
"It's fine, what's done is done right?"
"I guess so...so what can I help you with?"
Ellie starts to gets nervous but tries to hold it together
"I wanted to take you up on your lunch offer but since lunch has gone..."
Andy cuts in "how's about I take you out tonight instead?"
Ellie's smiles "yeh sure I'd like that"
"Great so I could pick you up or..."
Ellie gives Andy her address
"Great so I'll pick you up at 7"
"Yeah sure I'll be ready" says Ellie and brings her attention to Lucy in the doorway "I'll see you tonight then, bye Andy" looks at Lucy "yes Lucy"
"Sorry to bother you Miss Ellie but I was wondering if I could go on my lunch break now?
Ellie nods "sure"
Lucy smiles "thanks"
Lucy leaves the room and Ellie looks at Andys business card again..smiling
At Andys Office
Andy hangs up the phone with the goofiest look ever on his face
"What's up with the face dude" one of Andys co-worker says
"You know that girl I bumped into this morning" Andy says
"The one you won't stop going on about...yes"
"That was her, I'm taking her outtonight"
"Get in their Torres" another one of his co-workers say
"Thanks guys"
"So what does she do" a co-worker asks
"She's a lawyer"
"That is so cool mate" another co-worker says and they all high-five each other
That night Andy drives to Ellie's apartment and presses the buzzer to her apartment, Ellie buzzes him in and he makes his way up to the fourth floor, Andy knocks on the door. Ellie opens the door wearing a red dress
"Wow Ellie you look amazing" Andy says smiling
"Thanks Andy, you don't look too bad yourself" Ellie says as she comes out the door and closes the door behind her "so where are we going?"she asks
"There's this new Italian place that's just opened"
"Sounds nice" Ellie says as they walk outside the Andys car
When they get to the restaurant they get seated almost straight away
"What wine would you like sir?" The waiter says
"Bring us your best please waiter" Andy says with a smile then brings his attention to Ellie "so how was your day?"
"Stressful as always, how about yours?"
"Same really" he says smiling
"So what do you do with your job? Apart from numbers?"
"That's about it really, I do the companies taxes mostly and find out what's been spend right and wrong...it's not very interesting" Andy says "what about you"
Ellie shrugs "I sit and judge weather the right people go to jail or not" Ellie says
"Is everything ok?" Andy says
Ellie forces a smile "yeah everything's fine thanks"
The waiter comes back with the wine "would you like to try the wine sir?" He says to Andy.
"I'll let the lady decide" andy says with a smile
Ellie smiles at Andy and takes a sip "that's very nice"
The waiter smiles "very good miss, are you ready to order?"
After their meal the waiter thanks them and wishes them a happy Valentine's Day, they smile at him and walk out the restaurant and to Andys car where Andy drives them back to Ellie's place, he walks Ellie up to her apartment door
"I had a great time" Ellie says as she opens her door and faces Andy
"So did I" Andy says
"I think I'll except your apology now" says Ellie with a smile on her face
"That's nice to know" he says "so I take it as a good first date then?"
"Date?" Ellie says
Andy starts to panic a little "date...did I say date because..." Ellie interrupts him laughing
"I was joking Andy, I had a great first date also"
"Phew" he says laughing also
"Do you want to come in?"
"I would love to...but I'm up early in the morning" he looks at Ellie's upset face "I guess I could for a little while"
"Are you sure?"
Andy smiles and walks in with Ellie "yeah I'm sure" he looks around at her small apartment and sees birthday cards "when was it your birthday?"
Ellie looks at him "today"
Andy looks at her Iain shock "why didn't you tell me?"
Ellie laughs "because we hardly know each other" she's says sitting down on her couch with Andy joining her
Andy smiles and looks at her "so 21 again?"
Ellie laughs "25"
"Nice, I remember my 25th I was stuck at work and the guys got me a huge cake"
"Let me guess you didn't eat it?"
"It was massive I took it home and pretended it was a castle"
They both laugh
"So how old are you know then?" Ellie says
"28"
Ellie smiles "do you want a drink or anything?" She says getting up and walking to the kitchen
"No I'm good thank you"
Ellie gets herself a drink and then sits down back next to Andy "I really did have a great time tonight"
"So did I"
And they spend nearly all night talking to one another getting to know each other.
The next couple months were great for both of them, going out at least once a week for lunch and ringing each other nearly all the time to see how the other one was. Ellie was still the same at work people calling her names, but when she was at her office she was a lot nicer to Lucy and that was thanks to Andy, since spending time with Andy it's brought out a side to Ellie that she kind of likes, but she doesn't want to many people knowing her outside of work and her office because then...well they might treat her differently.
Days turned into months and months turned into 3 years, in this time Ellie and Andy had grown to love each other very much that it hurt. They had kissed on their 4th date and then after a year and a half of dating they decided to move into Andys apartment as it was a bit bigger then Ellie's, and they loved spending everyday together. Ellie acted like her self around Andy a little mean as even though she loved him work was getting to her head, after 2 years of dating they found a house in a nice town and in a matter of a year Ellie was outside getting post when two out of towners as she called them were looking at the house. Even though she didn't want them to move in she had no way of telling Andy no as the new neighbour Bobby Cob saved Andys life for, falling off the roof. After all that...I think you know what happens
