I always wondered why Gladers used their own unique set of words, instead of actually cursing. Here's my little take on why, using only dialogue. Enjoy! (No actual cuss words will be uttered, I tried to keep this at least K plus. Besides, I don't like them that much as well.) This probably isn't going to mesh with their actual personalities very well, or any of the actual facts, but I tried.

Just a normal day in the Glade...

"Newt, don't you think we should explore around here?"

"Yeah, might as well. I have a feelin' we'll be here for a long time. Minho, where are you-"

"I'm going to go climb the walls, to see if I can see anything."

"Ok, but be-"

"Ah! ***!"

"You really shouldn't say that ya know."

"You're not my mother."

"If she was here, she'd be tellin' you the same thing."

"So what? Why can't I say **-"

"No."

"-shuck."

"That's better."

*Annoyed grunting noises*

"It feels great to be in charge."

"I thought Alby was in charge! What about **-"

*Raises eyebrows*

"-klunk."

"Not much better, but I guess it's an improvement."

*Annoyed sigh*

"Minho, it's really not necessary to use language like that."

"But what if it just slips out!"

"Then you go sit in the corner and think about what you've done."

"You're really taking this too seriously. You say, 'bloody,' all the time! Why haven't you censored that out yet?"

"Because I don't bloody want to. It's not as bad as some of the ones you have chosen to use lately."

"Ugh."

A few days later...

"Ah shuck it."

"Minho, what-"

"Ask Mama Newt! He thinks he's our new mother or somethin'."

"Aw, poor baby Minho doesn't want Newt to be in charge."

"Shut it Gally. You're a stupid **-"

(Newt comes out of nowhere.) "Minho!"

"Ah! You scared the klunk out of me! Fine, I mean stupid shank. Happy?"

"Very."

*Growling noises*

"Minho, should you be running?"

*Grumbling* "Stupid Creators...If I had a lead bar...Gally too..."

(Alby shouting from a distance.) "We have some leads bars over here Minho! I think one has Gally's name on it."

"Hey!"

"Kidding, kidding..." *Mouths 'not kidding' to Minho behind Gally and Newt's backs*

"I saw that!"

"No you didn't! Don't tell me you have eyes in the back of your head Newt!"

"Maybe I do! I'm gonna need them to watch after you kids."

*Everyone groans*
