This is my first story / songfic. So please be gentle when reviewing.

I own nothing. I do not own the characters or the song in this fanfiction. I do not make any money off of this story. I just enjoy writing.

So with that out of the way here we go.

Kagome's Song

It was time to tell him how she felt. He needed to know before he went through with this wedding. Those were Kagome's thoughts as she headed to the band telling them the song to play. She got up on stage and grabbed the microphone.

"Excuse me, everyone, first I want to give my blessings and thanks to the happy couple." She said with a sad smile as she raised her glass to them, staring straight in to his eyes. "I would like to sing a song." He always loved my voice. She nodded at the band and they started to play the song she had requested.

"I sense there's something in the wind
That seems like tragedy's at hand
And though I'd like to stand by him
Can't shake this feeling that I have
The worst is just around the bend"

She sways her hips softly as she sings, closing her eyes not wanting to see their reaction to the song. She knew kagura was going to be pissed beyond all imagine. I wonder what his reaction will be. She continues to sing.

"And does he notice my feelings for him?
And will he see how much he means to me?
I think it's not to be"

She has her eyes closed when she feels kagura's demonic energy pick up and push against her miko energy. She feels sadness overwhelm her but still she sways and she sings.

"What will become of my dear friend?
Where will his actions lead us then?
Although I'd like to join the crowd
In their enthusiastic cloud
Try as I may, it doesn't last"

By this point tears are sliding down her cheeks. She hears someone ask another guest why she chose this song on such a happy day.

"And will we ever end up together?
no, I think not, it's never to become
For I am not the one"

She finishes the song and the lights around her dim. She drops the mic and runs she hears someone calling her name and she feels a strong demonic energy following her. 'No' she screams in her head. She ran till she felt arms wrap around her and then she starts fighting against the strong chest, she was being held against now. She stiffens immediately hearing a growl. 'Oh no I'm dead he is going to kill me I pissed him off'. She thinks tears following freely down her face.

"I love you kagome. I always have, why didn't you tell me you felt the same?" sesshomaru says holding her to his chest sticking his nose deep in her hair trying to commit her smell to memory.

She shivers slightly shaking, but not from being cold. "I love you sesshomaru." She turns in his arms facing him staring into his eyes. He leans down and kisses her.
