Hi everyone! I have wanted to write a poem from Gale's POV for a long time, but its never turned out right. This suddenly came to me in a burst of inspiration. It's not perfect by any means, so I apologize in advance for any mess ups in rythmn or ryming. Yet, poetry is not meant to be perfect so I take comfort in that lol! I hope you enjoy! ;D
Why not me?
What did I do wrong?
What must I have done?
Did I wait to long?
Was I too harsh?
Was I too cruel?
Please tell me what I did
Cause now I'm the fool
Did I crush your soul?
Did I break your heart?
Tell me Katniss tell me
Don't tear me apart
I didn't mean to do
Whatever it was I did
I cant think of it now
What could have possibly slid
Is it too late for you?
Is It too late for me?
Did that boy who saved your life?
Deafen my longing plea?
I loved that forest girl
Who my friend she had become
But now that she's on fire
I'm not sure where she's from
Are we yet still friends?
Or did terror turn you to?
The boy who turned out better
The boy who really loved you
What can I say to change it?
Anything at all?
If we could have gone back
Would you heed my call?
It's too late now for change
For I have gone away
I've left you to your boy
I've left you here to stay
My life will forever be dull
My heart will forever be sad
Because with your loving family
You'll finally become glad
I wish I could have made you
As happy as you are
But fate has turned against me
And I'll never forget that scar
