They were nothing and everything all at once.

With whisper words and flitting glances.

Stolen kisses and loving embraces.

It was right and wrong tied into a knot

Bleeding slowly until they could no longer tell

Separated by years, houses, and relations

He hated himself for falling into his family tradition

Of incest but she was dark and a forbidden fruit.

His star-cross lover who was ashamed of loving him.

Her cousin that made her laugh and wiped away her tears.

Lingering touches that went unnoticed.

But war comes, and everything is different.

She goes on and on about purity

And he goes on and on about equality

It's at that moment that they realized

They weren't as compatible as they thought

It suddenly becomes a mission to stay together

But as the war continues their love fades into hatred

And then they were enemies.

A/N: I didn't know if I should have done it in the stanza (like I have above) or put it in paragraphs, so I decided to put it as a free-verse poem. It's about Bellatrix and Sirius. I didn't put any names in there because it didn't feel right for this. Any thoughts or questions or comments please leave a review.
