"Lucas I just don't know what to do anymore…" I admitted. Lucas's full attention was on me.

"What do you mean?" He was more stubborn then ever since Peyton came back to Tree Hill.

"It's the whole Nathan thing… Jamie wants us to be a family, but I don't know if I can ever trust Nathan again… You know, right?" I sighed. Lucas smiled.

"You don't have to trust him." He mused.

"Lucas James Scott, whatever am I going to do with you?" I took his face in between my hands, giving him chubby cheeks.

"Listen, Hales. If anything, Nathan will love you more than anyone in the world. Give him props for that." He removed my hands with his.

"Marriage isn't just about love; it's also about trust and honesty, and wanting a family together…" I stopped, knowing this would only press further into Lucas and Peyton. "But, since we're on the subject of love…" Lucas scowled. "How's Peyton?"

"Hales, do I have to tell you 1000 times? Peyton Sawyer is my friend."

"Keep telling yourself that Lucas." He laughed, so I laughed too.

"I want to make you a deal…" He had a devious smile on his face.

"Oh god," I joked. "This is when I wish I knew what goes through your mind."

He hesitated before speaking, "When you and Nathan at least talk, I'll tell you what goes on in my head."

I raised my eye brows, jokingly. "Deal."
